It's already been nearly one year in this college and it’s been a great journey till now. There are a lot of opportunities you will get here in every aspect or every field in which you want to go. There is a great alumni network of this college. This college is also known as house of CEOs because so far, it has produced so many CEOs of top companies of India. I personally have chosen this college because of its faculties and overall development including awesome campus life. If we talk about its campus, it is lush green and beautiful covering a space of above 800 acres with trees all around the campus. Our 8 professors are among top 2% scientists and almost all the professors have done their higher degree from IITs or foreign reputed institutions.

I have chosen metallurgical and materials engineering in this college because it is one of the most certain branches of engineering in these times. Anyways, there are 8-9 different departments in our college and also 4 of them are circuital and others are core branches. Eligibility requirement is that you have to pass JEE mains exam with a good percentile in order to get admission in this college. If you are from open category, then minimum you have to score nearly 98%ile to get this college. My main motive of enrolling in this program is to know better about materials around us and also I am planning to pursue higher education after completion of my bachelor's degree.

Our college has top notch faculty who have completed their higher education from top colleges in India and other countries as well. Most of them have done their Ph.D from IITs and some of them have completed their doctorate degrees from top institutions from foreign countries. They are very helpful towards students as they keep motivating us for doing researches and experiments in our courses. They are always ready to help us learn new things and to execute our plans and learning in various things.

Our college has great placement history as every year majority of the students got placed in top companies that visit our campus. Last year, campus placement was around 90%. Yes, we have a Placement Cell working actively for students to get a good company cracked. Almost every student who applies for placement got a good package from top companies. Our Placement Cell helps in giving training to students on how to crack interviews and mock rounds of companies. Every year, almost all the tech giants including Google, Microsoft, and Amazon visit our campus and acquire good amount of students from our college.

We have hostel facilities for all 4 year students. In total, we have 22 boys’ hostels and 8 girls’ hostels. Boys’ and girls’ hostels are situated at different locations. For first year, we get 1 room for 3 boys but we don't face as such problems as room is quite big and enough space is there for accommodation of 3 people. We get 3 beds, 3 table-chair pairs, and 3 cupboards initially from college. There is garden outside of every hostel where we can spend some evening time and Wi-Fi facilities all over the hostel area. In the following years we will get hostel in which 2 people are accommodated in single room.

Our college has great infrastructure facilities. We have separate buildings for classrooms of different year students. We have specific department buildings all over the campus for all departments’ labs and all. There is a big and beautiful building Orion where exams are conducted and also classes are conducted. There is a Logos building where classes for 1st years are conducted. We have golden Jubilee Hall for big functions and fests. Also there is a barn hall in which TDMS, DJs, and rest of the functions are organised.

Overall, it has been a great year throughout in this NIT Trichy campus as we have a lot to explore here. We have a campus of around 800 acres and most of them are covered with trees and greenery. There are nearly 1160 students who took admission this year in our college. We have clubs for almost everything out there; means if you are good at something just apply for its particular club. You will get every club here including aerospace, singing, dancing, coding, web designing, graphic designing, and so on. If we talk about fest, there are 3 main fests that are organised in our college and rest there are many small fests and celebrations keep on happening throughout the year. First is Festember which happens around October month, second is Pragyan which happens in February, it is our technical fest and said to be the 4th largest technical fest in India, and third fest is Nittfest which is the cultural fest of NIT Trichy. After all that, if you are a sports enthusiast then there are contingent teams for almost every sports you could be interested in and there is a specific fest also for this which is Sportsfete where you can show your sports skills and win exciting prizes for your department.
