My Experience In NLUO

Overall Rating
NLUO is one of the top 10 National Law Universities in India. It is an appropriate place to study law in India. The college not only provides you with academic qualification but also encourages you for extracurricular activity. NLUO has a robust mooting culture which prepares its students to enter confidently into the legal field. The placement records have been impressive since some years. Overall, one should consider studying at NLUO if they want to pursue law.
 

Academics Rating
To enroll in NLUO, one has to clear CLAT with a minimum 1200 rank. The course is well updated to the needs of the legal industry. The college provides 6 subjects per semester, 3 of BA/BBA and 3 of Law, which makes for 60 courses in 5 years. Curriculum. The college only takes one end-semester exam per semester and the passing mark for the same is 49.5%.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty at NLUO is experienced and well-qualified. They not only stick to the bookish teaching but engage in interactive sessions and discussions. The faculty also gives slots for consultation even after college hours. The only problem with the faculty is their instability at the college. The faculty often keeps changing and sometimes there is a burden on a single professor to handle the entire batch.
 

Placement Rating
The NLUO has a very active placement cell which plays a key role in placement drive. It has been doing great in placements for a few years. Last year out of 80 students, who participated in the recruitment process, 71 got placed, thus having an 88.75% placement percentage. The highest package was 18 LPA and the average was 11.7 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
NLUO has on-campus hostel facilities. There are 2 hostels for boys and 2 for girls. One hostel for the girls is under construction. In the first year, one gets a double occupancy room but in the second year it is upgraded to single occupancy where you will get facilities like bed, one table, a chair, one almirah, and one book shelf. The washrooms are to be shared. The hostels have an open badminton area.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college has one academic block which has centralised AC. The college has 3 canteens, 2 of them are operational at night and one Nescafe shop along with one juice centre. The college also has one Amphitheatre where the events take places. NLUO has Asia's biggest law library.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life of NLUO is quite lively. We have events, fests, and competitions around the year. The college has 2 major fests namely Kairaan (cultural fest) and Viraj (sports fest) which happens in March every year. Apart from that, the college has its own centers and committees which the students can be part of.

If I may add, NLUO is one of the good ones of the lot.     Life as a student at NLUO Cuttack is both tough and fun. It offers both academic and non-academic facilities. The university provides a student with a whole bunch of opportunities to progress in the Legal world. A student at this university finds exposure to several employment options, which we may not ordinarily contemplate of.
