Overall Rating
Overall experience in the University of Calcutta was great as the campus, faculty, location and environment is decent enough for pursuing Masters in Commerce. The course fees are affordable. Along with affordability the quality of education is top notch. The college is located in the prime location amidst the college street.
 

Academics Rating
The academics of this university is great since all students are admitted with a high SGPA of around 8.0, who have completed their B.Com degree from recognized colleges. The motive of enrollment in the Masters program of Commerce is to become exceptional in the field of Commerce in Finance, Marketing, etc.
 

Faculty Rating
The teaching faculty of the University of Calcutta is good. The teachers have knowledge of their respective fields and classes are held timely. Assignments are strictly to be completed under the allotted time frame. You can discuss your doubts and opinions freely. Attendance in each class is ensured by the HOD. This university has a great learning environment.
 

Placement Rating
The placement cell is not that great, as the percentage of placements is not that huge. But companies like KPMG come to the university within a limited time frame.
 

Hostel Rating
This university has a lush green campus along with the hostel in the campus itself. Hostel accommodation is available for both girls and boys. The rooms are clean and the environment is also good.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is well maintained. The building has an old British style architecture. The Commerce department is located in the Ashutosh building. The other departments are also having specific names too. The central library is having an excellent infrastructure. There are ample numbers of books for each subject available in the library.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life of this university can be enjoyed in the lush green campus providing canteen facilities. The campus also has a museum. The art museum has a decent fee of Rs. 5 to visit it and see different architectures. The canteen has affordable snacks and lunch options available.

    University of Calcutta is one of the top-notch universities of this country for sure. The student teacher ratio is 1:20.     I appeared for WBJEE in 2023 and got a rank of 7332. I opted for University of Calcutta and got admitted in instrumentation Engineering. My over all experience has been excellent. Campus (salt lake) is new and beautiful, classes are air-conditioned, etc. One should definitely take admission if he/she wants to pursue a B.Tech course without hefty fees.... Read Full Review

    I have been a first year student at University of Calcutta for B.Tech course. This University is good for students who are from economically weak background as this college has very less fees. This college provides a wonderful opportunity to students for internship and placements.     Overall assessment of Calcutta University’s M.Sc course has been good. The academics here are also really good. The faculty members are always there to help and are very supportive guiding through the topics. They use multiple teaching techniques. Admissions are simple and the course fee is pocket-friendly.   • My Overall Journey at University of Calcutta
     

    Overall Rating
    The emphasis on lab skills as well as research is laudable in the M.Sc. Botany program at the University of Calcutta. The placement scenario is quite good as there are TCS, Wipro, Biocon, Pfizer, etc. who are ready to offer lucrative packages. The tuition fees are nominal, other than that there are merit-based scholarships for students.
