My honest views on IMS, BHU

Overall Rating
The great legacy of the university known as Banaras Hindu University. It is one of the best University in Asia and the largest residential too. My college was Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) and I chose it due to the fact that it had an excellent reputation and it had one of the most important things called a PG quota which helps a lot in future PG exams as well.
 

Academics Rating
The college has an excellent set of teachers for every department. In first year you would be encountered by 3 subjects that are Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry. The department for all is great. You would require cracking NEET-UG examination and getting a rank of at least less than 1200 to get it this prestigious college. Keep in mind this is not an easy course as it is a very professional course where one mistake could cost someone's life so you should always be prepared.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty in IMS is really good to say at the least. The anatomy department can be a little strict at times but that is for our own benefit as to inculcate discipline. The teachers are all great doctors on their own and they help us understand the subject very clearly. The dissection hall is one of the places where you will be spending most your time in and for good reasons too. I would highly suggest joining this college as the academics are top notch and the practical learning system is also great.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel for 1st year is Punarvasu Atreya Hostel. It has one room for 2 people and it provides you with a bed, desk, chair and an almirah. It is quite spacious, so you wouldn't have any problem studying in the room. It also has a fan and you could place cooler if you want. There are 4 bathroom hall containing 3*3 toilets and bathrooms in each floor which is quite sufficient. The mess also has good food at a reasonable price and you wouldn't get bored of it.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The IMS campus is quite large as it has different blocks. Most of your classes will be held in NLT which stands for New Lecture Theatre. It is also meant for seminars. The college is also quite close to the hospital so you can go there if you have any health related issues.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life was quite good. There are various events organised all-round the year but the biggest fest is the medical fest known as ELIXIR. It is really great and includes many events in which people take part and singers from Bollywood are also invited. Standup comedy and dj night are also organised here which are quite great.

  • BHU: Best of the Best

    As per IAS (Indian Agricultural Science), BHU is the 2nd NIRF ranking in India and 1st Agricultural university in India. Therefore, as I have to study from a best agricultural university and it is the best option. It has a yearly fee of 10000 INR only and hostel yearly fee of 5000 INR, providing a scholarship of 3000 INR per month to every student. As I am belonging to middle class, it is a best option....     As we all are aware that Banaras Hindu University is globally recognized university and one the prestigious university in India. The most important thing in making it so is the Academics part. As a student of Commerce department in BHU, I can tell you about my department only.
