Passing the GATE exam with a good rank is the only way to get into PICT because the criteria for admissions is based on merit. I already had known about this and hence I was neck deep into my studies for GATE. Pune is the centre of education in Maharashtra and that's why it has a number of colleges offering various courses. As I wanted to pursue my masters from PICT only, I never left space for excuses. After coming to PICT, being with students from different states, it really felt like a second home, mini India. The management of PICT is really appreciable and I count myself fortunate to be a part of PICT.

Many students don't think that a masters degree makes any difference in their chances of landing any job but PICT offers stipend for masters which have motivated a number of students to take admission to the Masters in various specialized courses. Academically, PICT is appreciable. And I think the batches before the pandemic were fortunate enough to have conducted classes, projects and workshops offline. In this way you get to know the real condition of the field.

IBM and Microsoft are already partners of PICT. Apart from this many reputed companies are called upon for recruitment. Probability of landing a job for IT students has surged up after the pandemic but when I completed my masters, all of the departments had almost the same scope, more or less. The packages are also more than average; it varies from 6-7 LPA to 24 LPA. The figures are alluring I know but it is the value of your hard work of all those years after all. With the college providing placement opportunities, you can always apply side by side for more companies on your own.

The college and hostel buildings are in front of each other. I previously had stayed in a hostel and hence it was nothing new for me but some of my friends were staying in a hostel for the first time. College life experience always feels incomplete if you haven't stayed in a hostel. Independence really teaches you a lot of life lessons. Hostel food was good but sometimes it would taste average. Hostel has one entertainment room where students can watch TV, or play indoor games like carom, table tennis. Hostel is quite posh and well maintained. The rules were not so strict at the hostel, like any students can visit the hostel without permission.

The college is in a secluded area, so don't imagine any rush or traffic around the college. Otherwise the college atmosphere is very silent, without any noise. College infrastructure is not that impressive like other engineering colleges in Pune. It has many facilities like a fully stacked library, canteen with good food, laboratory with advanced equipment, huge auditorium, etc. Classes also have projectors and digital screens for teaching. College campus does not have much of a playground; students who are interested in sports have to go to other playgrounds in the area to play. I was not much impressed with the college infrastructure, based on the fees and donations they take, they could have done better than that.

College fests are the life of PICT; many cultural, traditional, and tech fests are arranged for students. Every year at least 3 tech fests are managed. Tech fests are one of my favorite parts because it gave me a chance to learn so much from different people and from different perspectives. Other festivals are also celebrated in the college. The one thing that I noticed in fests that college staff does some partiality in giving chance to perform at the fests.
