Christ University BBA Review By Alka

I am a student of Christ University Bannerghatta Road Campus and I am currently doing Bachelors of Business Administration (Hons.) with specialization in the field of Marketing (2022- 2025). My life in Christ University has been a mixture of academics, extracurricular activities, and vibrant campus culture. Being a North Indian, coming first time in Bangalore made me nervous but the crowd here is very warm and welcoming. 80% of the crowd is north Indian and rest 20% has NRI and South Indians (majorly Malayali). I agree to the fact that groupism is there but seniors are supportive. They even help you with CIA (Continuous Internal Assessments). If you manage to have a good friend circle then three years of university life are sorted. The campus has a nice garden and they follow sustainability. Recently, management has announced that plastic water bottles will not be sold in canteen. Their answer scripts also get recycled. Other activities are encouraged to maintain more sustainable environment. With all the fests and events, participation, this university gave me confidence to face the corporate world outside. Overall, I will rate this university ten on ten. However, the experience might differ from person to person. It is very strict with deadlines, punctuality, and attendance. If you come from discipline family background, you can survive here. Students here have to followed certain dress code strictly. Here the cleaning staff and security staff have power to punish you if you are not abiding by the rules.

Academically, the syllabus is much updated. There is an online library where you can have access to past years question papers and get the pattern of the exams. Mostly classes are interactive and you might be rewarded for class participation. It has Continuous Internal Assessments (CIA) which is of 20 marks and holds 70% weightage in the total score and failing in CIA will lead to penalty and backlogs, there is CIA 1(20 marks), CIA 2, (we call it as mid semester which is of 50 marks which will be converted to 25 marks later) and CIA 3 (20 marks ) and then the end semester exam of 50 marks. If you want holistic development and want to be corporate ready then surely you should enroll for this course. Eligibility would be mostly clearing the entrance exam and cracking interview.

All the faculty members are well deserving here. Almost every faculty has done their PhD and many of them are researcher here. Even students can assist them in their research work and get the experience. Teachers here are well aware of current situation and can make the learning very informative and fun activity. If you have any doubt you can take time and discuss it in their cabin as well all the faculty location, cabin number and email ID will be given in knowledge pro application given to every students their you can find their location and ask them for help. There is also a mentor/guide to you given to each student to help them with overall development. In the end of the semester, you will be given the online form for faculty evaluation and students can rate them in many aspects such as time management, syllabus completion, interaction in class and other such things. Students can also give their remark in written and verbal form and student’s name is kept anonymous. We have open forum for same where the student’s council takes suggestions about class and give the same suggestions or concerns to respective teacher keeping name of the student anonymous.

We do have placement cell and being one of the core member of CPCG (Center for Placement and Career Guidance), I can give more details on this topic. Most of the interviews happen in Christ’s central campus. From every class, two coordinators are elected by class teacher and they are responsible to give details to students. If any student is going to central campus for placement purpose, then they will get attendance from office. Placement starts from last years. In my case, it had been started from fifth semester (July) and until now (November when I am writing this review). 52 companies have already came and taken students from here. mass selection was done by Deloitte India and EY. Central campus also provides training for resume building, group discussion, and other body language and interview skills. We also got LinkedIn premium free for six months from university to do more courses and fine more internships. Many students have done internships. Highest package until now (November 2024) is 22 LPA. Average is 5.5 to 6 LPA. This university gives good platform for placements and help students for the same. However, companies have high demand out of 920 students, they selected around 20 students.

Christ Bannerghatta road Campus does not have hostel for girls but they have it for boys with strict rules and mostly after first year, they move out. You can find good PG's here around within 1 kilometer and all of their price ranges from 12 thousand to 17 thousand (per month) for double sharing and 18 thousand to 22 thousand for single sharing (per month). However, the roads are still under construction so traffic near main gate is bit heavy but security takes care of it very well. There is new metro station going to be ready within two years. Therefore, it will be easy for students to commute.

Christ Bannerghatta road Campus has spacious classroom, which is digitally advanced with projector and charging points provided in classroom to charge the laptops and phones also we have seminar hall. There is an auditorium and mini auditorium, where many events take place. The washrooms are cleaned and hand wash is provided. We have infirmary where medicines are given in case of urgency. We also have vending machines, canteens, (in ground floor) terrace garden, and stationary shop inside the campus. The best part of the campus is near the birdcage where you can enjoy doing your work with melodious chirping of birds near you. During Christmas time, the campus looks new and different. one should really come and witness the Christmas vibes in the campus.

Here campus life is amazing given that the students are able to grab the opportunity. We have Business Fests organized by CUSBMA (Christ University School of Business and Management Association), Novice, & Genesis (organized for first years), and TELESTO (Inter-university event): three days event, Tresvista, and other such events. There are many clubs in campus and it is compulsory to be in one of them for every students. SWO club organizes the ethnic day, where all students have to wear their traditional dress. It also organizes freshers in the campus, we have choir group and NCC as well, every day I see one or the other even where I can show my skills and grow in a fun way. Christ also has sports club where students get opportunity to show their skills. Recently, we are preparing for NRITA, a dance competition intercollegiate fest. if a student’s is outgoing, they will get a chance to connect to alumni and other business experiences we have many guest lecturers organized by outreach I myself have been to TAJ hotel in Bangalore to witness the GMO session about Omnichannel and asked to made connections from the people there. We also have councilors and other support for mental health and depression issues. University takes serious action against ragging or even any assault to gender based comments to be mindful with these things.
