COEP Technological University Admissions: JEE and MHT-CET Requirements

Hello!! I am currently studying in COEP technological University. I have a very good experience at this University because it helps you to get a mixture of both practical and theoretical knowledge. I chose this University because of the extracurricular events and activities that happens here which helps us to explore in different fields of our interest. That’s the sole reason I chose this University over any others as we get a blend of both studies and co curricular.

The course chosen by me is B.E. in Civil Engineering at COEP Technological University. My motive regarding this course is that I have the same type of family business that I wanted to expand and learn more about it. The entry requirements in this University is a minimum cut off clearance in JEE or MHT-CET exam which changes every year depending on students appearing for the exam and their score. The admission process consists of 3 CAP rounds followed by a SPOT round which happens in 1 to 1.5 months after the results are out. The exam JEE happens twice in a year and MHT-CET happens only once. The academics help to understand clearly with challenges and have them accordingly, calmly with sensible reflexes.

The fee for Open criteria for my course is Rs. 1.42 Lakh for one year including tuition fees, admission and registration fees. This is different that we need to pay for freezing our seats in the respective rounds of admission. Many discounts are provided for students with reserved category except open such an expectation on tuition and developments fees, etc. MAHDBT and many other scholarships help students financially. The amount varies as for EWS category. I got Rs. 7,500 discount.

The faculty members at COEP Technological University are very skilled and experienced. They help us understand the concepts very thoroughly and meaningfully. The faculty members are masters or Ph.D holders in their respective subjects. The method of teaching involves blackboards, PowerPoint presentations, and sometimes online instruction. The teachers address doubts humbly and help us understand concepts nicely. For every 25 students, a teacher is assigned for labs. The bond with teachers increases as we ask more questions or try to answer questions asked in class. But they try to help us in every possible way.

There is a training and placement cell present at COEP Technological University. It helps students to interact with different companies and offers related to them. The cell works with leading companies to organizes recruitment drives. The recruiters here are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, IBM, Tech Mahindra, and Accenture, etc. The highest package here is around 55 LPA, and the average is 7 LPA. As I am in the first year, I haven't got placed yet.

Yes, COEP Technological University provides hostel facilities, with A to J blocks and with around 1,000 capacity including boy’s and girl’s. The boys' and girls' hostels are separate. The mess provides food with breakfast, lunch, high tea, and dinner facilities. The hostel fee is around 45 thousand, excluding food. The hostel curfew is 10 pm. I do not stay at the COEP hostel, but I have got reviews from the hostel students.

The campus of COEP Technological University is connected by an underground subway. The campus is in Shivajinagar, Pune. The classrooms have seating capacities of 100 students. Facilities like a library, labs, halls, auditorium, etc. are present. There are two canteens: one with a boat club view and the other a large space canteen. A sports canteen is also present, with high-level security. The favorite thing about the University is the boat club canteen with its lakeside view. The scenic lakeside view complements the course teaching.

Campus life is pretty good, though sometimes hectic. The crowd at COEP Technological University is great, with good people around. There are many sports clubs, technical clubs, and cultural clubs. No, I am not part of any club. I participated once in a Sherlock-themed game at the University's MindSpark event. Campus life feels great. You get good exposure and interaction with peers. You also gain knowledge of event management and finance. The sports events are also excellent like COEP zest.
