Know Why COEP Technological University is Top Priority

Overall Rating
My overall experience is excellent as there is lot exposure. As COEP Technological University is a 3rd oldest and best college in whole Maharashtra after IIT Bombay, the alumni is excellent that made me select this university. COEP is at the centre of Pune near Shivaji Nagar the Airport. Railway station & Bus station is also nearby, which I would say is a huge advantage.
 

Academics Rating
I am currently pursuing B.Tech in Electrical Engineering in third year. I always have a keen interest in problem solving and electronics that is why I chose this branch. You just have to score good in MHTCET entrance exam like above 95 percentile to get admission in COEP. 15% intake is from JEE Main exam (above 95 percentile). Admission process is as if you have to submit documents and all required to the exam cell. We have to appear for mid sem and end sem exams. There is gap of about 50 days between mid sem and end sem exams.
The total fee is Rs. 1,25,000 for general category students per year (which includes all tuition fee, admission fee, registration fee , examination fee, etc.). The total fee for ST category students is Rs. 15,000 and for SC & EWS students there is fee concession. Different types of scholarships are provided for students who are in need of financial support. Scholarships like Maha DBT, the alumni association scholarships, and many other scholarships are there for financial support to the students.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties in COEP Technological University are highly experienced and qualified. Mostly faculties are PhD holders. Teachers are supportive and helpful to the students. Mostly the faculties use PPT slides for teaching very less and mostly use blackboard. Like the Mathematics, teachers always use black board of teaching. Faculties have done their Bachelor’s or Master’s from NIT or IIT and some from good state colleges. My experience with almost all faculties is good.
 

Placement Rating
I would say placements at COEP Technological University are excellent except for the Civil Engineering students. Activities like communication skills and technical skills are been taught. Big companies like De Shaw, Wells Fargo, Tata Motors, Schlumberger, Bajaj Electrical, Godrej Properties, Reliance Industries, Hero Motocorp, and many more visits for the college placement. Average package is 7 LPA and highest package is 52 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the college offers residential stay. There are different blocks for each first year, second year, and third year students of B.Tech students. 4 students are supposed to share one room. Both girl’s and boy’s hostels are separate. Mess Good quality is average. Hostel fee is Rs. 45,000 per year plus Rs. 7,000 (deposit refundable) we have to pay mess fee after end of the month depends on individuals eating routine. Hostel timings are like after 12 PM night gate is closed.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Overall infrastructure is good. Campus size is 32 acres situated in Shivaji Nagar Pune. For electrical, there are 97 students so the classrooms have 100 students sitting capacity. Labs can be improved, as they feel quite compact. Library is okay. Yes, there are 2 canteens, 1 canteen in hostel and1 medical store. My favorite parts are auditorium, badminton court, and electrical campus. The reason is that my department is very good compared to other departments.
 

Campus Rating
Overall, campus life is good. There are more than 25 clubs like Team Octane (formula 11), The Satellite club (astronomy), Spandan (social cause), Regata (Boat club), and many others. Many fests are held like ‘Impression’ (annual fest of COEP), ‘Mindspark’ (technical fest), and Garba fest), PSF (Pune startup fest), and many others.

    The overall experience at COEP (University of Engineering Pune) Tech has been really great. The teachers and faculty here are very welcoming. They help us in any difficulty in academics.     COEP is a well-established brand. It has a very strong alumni network. Most of the alumni are settled in US-UK. You have good respect in society when you say you are from COEP. It has a very rich legacy and tradition from British era. Seniors are very helpful. It has very good academics and research facilities. Placements are top-notch.     Undebateably, the best college in Maharashtra. Being the third oldest college in all over Asia, the prestige of the college is at another level. Of-course, it has competition with the IIT Bombay and NIT Nagpur. It is the dream college of every MHT CET examination candidate.
