Undebateably, the best college in Maharashtra. Being the third oldest college in all over Asia, the prestige of the college is at another level. Of-course, it has competition with the IIT Bombay and NIT Nagpur. It is the dream college of every MHT CET examination candidate. Those students who barely miss the IIT and the NIT get their admission assured in this college, sometimes at par with the former students too. Most of the people from outside Maharashtra don't know about it, but those who know, knows its value. The NIRF ranking of COEP in the engineering category in 2022 is 50. That's superbly awesome. It has the best placements, one of the best campuses, the best faculty and the best curriculum in India. Yes, everything is the best, that's why it is in most demand for students' admissions. The cut offs are literally very high. Like for the computer branch it is around 99.91 percentile for the general category students enrolled for the MHT CET examination. Haha, sounds funny, but that's the reality. You will have score the most marks in that examination and be among the brightest minds in India.

What to talk about academics. Since, COEP Pune is one of the oldest; it has experience older than the 1857 Revolution. The college is not under the Savitri Bai Phule University. It is granted an autonomous status. This puts it in a level up league. It comes under the tier 1 colleges in India. The college keeps updating the curriculum from time to time to keep up with the quality standards and also the industry levels. There are many departments; all the noncore and all the core departments are available. The computer department is in the most demand and houses the brightest minds in India. Computer department provides the students with all the knowledge of computer and coding that a computer engineer needs. It has syllabus ranging from the Operating systems (hardware part) to all the software parts. It helps one acquire the basic running knowledge of the computer as well as the user interface application programs. I love to study these all. I love coding as it needs analytical and data structure and algorithm knowledge that is very well provided in the course. Overall, there will no compromises in the academic part ever.

The best college always has the best faculties. They are the experts in their respective fields of teaching. Many faculties come from the IIT Bombay and the NIT Nagpur to take some of our lectures at some points of the semesters. It feels very overwhelmed to be listening to one of the extra ordinary faculties in India. The student might be a fool to miss their lectures, but still they exists. They have years and years of experience. One of the journals in our college publishes that the average experience of the faculties in the college is 20 years, which is insane. 20 years of contribution to the field, and teaching is superb. The faculties are full of passion for teaching students and they can walk the extra mile for them any time given.

Of course, there is a placement and training cell that keeps an eye on the placements and interviews ongoing and off going all over the campus for the students. Their vision to make every student recruited in the best companies is fabulous. They bring very big companies for recruitment and internships for example, BMW, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Uber etc. These all companies provide more than above average packages for top talent in the college. The highest package offered was an off campus recruitment of almost 80 lakh per annum, which is very high, at par with IITs. The average is also good, which is 15 lakh per annum. The average of the college comes down due to some non core departments like the Production, Mechanical and the Metallurgy, which gets a lesser packages than the core departments like the Computer Science.

Yes there is hostel or residential facilities available for all the students and also for the faculties of the college, and also for some students and organizations that have their projects going on with the faculties. There are many hostels for both the genders. It is not a co-ed hostel. There is mess or canteen available which is common for both the genders. But the quality of food is not very good. One has to remember the taste of food his or her mother makes. There are washing machines, laundry facilities, bathrooms, and not so long lobbies in every hostel.

The infrastructure of the college is somewhat old. The buildings are very old dating back to 1850s. But there are new hostel and lecture halls being build which excites every one. There is a very large library. There are all the types of sports facilities available along with large grounds for the former as well as for concerts and events. The lab equipment and the classrooms are very good as it is a government college. There is a badminton court, basketball court, cricket ground, probably a upcoming rifle shooting area and an indoor games area in the huge campus.

There are many clubs which are very active and have very much work to do. They put in lot of efforts for making all the events successful. At last all the efforts of the students are recognized by the college. There are three main events that occur over the academic year. The cultural and the technical fests are ones which the students are most excited for. The cultural festival is the second best in Maharashtra after the IIT's. The crowd is somewhat mixed, they are from many states of India. At the end of the four years, they too get familiar with the regional Marathi language. Many top Bollywood artists pull up over in our campus for the festivals. Many activities and fun games are also conducted during these festivals. I am always very excited for the cultural one. The campus life is very good, along the roads in the campus; it feels like living with the nature as it has many trees all over.
