Studying BBA at Graphic Era Hill University Dehradun

My experience at Graphic Era Hill University, Dehradun was really great and interesting. The reason behind choosing it was, I saw the university advertisement here and there and some of my cousins have also studied here. They suggested me that it s one of the best and affordable university in Dehradun. It is near ISBT (bus station) which is quite good for students coming from different states or coming from far locations. The transportation connectivity is really good. The thing, which makes it different from others, is that it is spacious and have good infrastructure.

I chose BBA as I was interested in entrepreneurship and business. The entry requirement for the admission is scoring minimum 50% in class 12th boards. The admission process is simple; you can register online by paying Rs. 3,000 and book your seat. After that you can come to the admission cell for the inquiry. The exam happens every 2 to 2.5 months in this course. The academic preparation is very good; the university has a well planned academic curriculum. Sometimes, classes are not conducted, rest is all good.

The course fee per semester is Rs. 90,000 in general. University provides scholarships, which includes 25% for Himalayan region students, 10% girl concession, and academic scholarship. But if you do not pass in any subject your scholarship will be removed. No matter, how well you perform in the upcoming exams. Considering all scholarships and concession my fee is Rs. 52,590. Fee changes every semester according to SGPA.

Some of the teaching staff is really hard working and supportive. Some teachers use PPTs and blackboard to explain the topics while some teachers use books. I personally prefer the ones who teach us using blackboards and PPTs. Some of the faculties are the alumni of the university itself. Some teachers share good bonding with the students; some of them are quite approachable & helps you solve problems in and after class hours. The teacher student ratio is 1:50. The problem solving skills of faculty members are pretty good. The teachers not only focus on the theoretical knowledge but also on the practical knowledge, which help in developing the overall personality of the students. They give information about the current affairs related to the financial market as well. Some faculties are from Lady Sri Ram College of Commerce and some are from IITs.

Yes, the university has a placement cell of its own. Every department has a different placement coordinator. I haven't sat for placements yet but from what I have heard, the university has good placements for academically skilled students.

I haven’t opted for university hostels. So, don’t have much information about the same.

The GEHU Dehradun provides you a main academic building surrounded by multiple blocks having different departments. The university infrastructure is really good. The classrooms are very good; have a good seating capacity and are furnished well. Though the classrooms are not air conditioned but there are multiple fans. There is a well stocked library. Around 6 to 8 seminar halls are also present in the campus. Canteen is available with affordable and good quality food. Here, food is prepared in a very hygienic manner. My favorite place is the lush green lawn. Good sports facilities are provided by the college.

The overall campus life is good. The university is really very crowded, especially during the exam times. There are a lot of clubs in the university related to your interests. If you are interested in dance you can join dance clubs like ‘Natrang’, ‘Aina club’, etc. University also provides NSS and NCC. The university organizes management fest, hackathons, etc. These include activities like art & craft, treasure hunt, gully cricket, fashion show, open mic, and many more. GEHU Dehradun also organizes online games like BGMI and Free Fire. There is ‘Grafest’ for students where many renowned singers come like Badasha, Neha Kakkar, etc.
