About BHU Varanasi: All the Aspects

Overall Rating
Life of BHU Varanasi is just like a dream for any student. Every kind of facility is available here, which makes a student's life easier. We have every type of book available in central library, and computers in cyber library. Buses run for students and staff, free Wi-Fi facility is available in all over campus, and so much more. It encompasses a wide range of academic disciplines, including Arts, Science, Social science, and more.
 

Academics Rating
The campus houses 16 institute, and 140 departments and more than 40 research centers. It includes laboratories, lecture hall, libraries etc. There are experts on every subject here and everyone is very supportive and humble. Seminars and webinars are held frequently. A lot of workshops are conducted time to time, which are really helpful. BHU Varanasi has a strong academic reputation. It is known for diverse range of courses and experienced faculty.
If we talk about academic and hostel fee here, then it's quite nominal. Academic fees in most courses here is Rs. 1000/- to Rs. 2000/- a year. The hostel fee is Rs. 7000/- for a year. And, you get many types of relaxations too.
 

Faculty Rating
The teaching faculty, is wonderful. There are great teachers in every department. Some teachers like LBJ sir, Ashish Kant sir, Vaibhav sir, Minakshi madam and HK sir (our current dean), are some wonderful teachers in commerce department. They always guided us well. Many professors are highly qualified, holding PhD from prestigious institutions like IITs and central institutions.
 

Placement Rating
BHU Varanasi has good placement opportunities, particularly for Technical and Management courses. But it can be improved in some departments. Generally, the university is known for strong placement records with high placement percentage.
 

Hostel Rating
There are approximately 80 hostels, which are well-maintained, butt certain building feel outdated. Every kind of facility is provided there, like neat and clean rooms and a huge corridor, garden and a good enough mess, water coolers and geezers for hot water, etc. Everything is great.
 

Infrastructure Rating
I always heard BHU Varanasi as Asia's largest residential campus and being the 3rd topmost university in India, and when I experienced it, it is like a whole different world inside Varanasi. It has a diverse campus and is completely safe. Those off yellow and red coloured buildings look amazing. There are many departments and every department has separate buildings and facilities. Every building is built in a very cultural way, and every wall tells its own story.
 

Campus Rating
BHU Varanasi campus has a medical institute, a reputed well-known hospital, a temple and what not inside it. Students love the vast, green campus with modern equipment. It’s true that university is best in everything, but its campus remains the centre of attraction for everyone. A lot of tourists also come to see it.

  • BHU: Best of the Best

    As per IAS (Indian Agricultural Science), BHU is the 2nd NIRF ranking in India and 1st Agricultural university in India. Therefore, as I have to study from a best agricultural university and it is the best option. It has a yearly fee of 10000 INR only and hostel yearly fee of 5000 INR, providing a scholarship of 3000 INR per month to every student. As I am belonging to middle class, it is a best option....     As we all are aware that Banaras Hindu University is globally recognized university and one the prestigious university in India. The most important thing in making it so is the Academics part. As a student of Commerce department in BHU, I can tell you about my department only.
