IHE New Delhi is Situated near Hauz Khas Metro Station Gate no. 3 Exit

I chose to study Journalism at IHE New Delhi mainly because it's a new course here, started in 2017 so, the teaching methods are more updated. One thing that makes this Institute stand out is the exposure we get outside the classroom through societies, especially Centre for Media and Communication has been a great experience for Journalism students to plan, cover and handle events ourselves. Also, the location is very convenient, it's just a minute walk from Hauz Khas metro station gate no. 3 exit, and campus is in a prime and green area which makes overall vibe peaceful and nice.

I chose B.A (Hons.) Journalism to be part of dynamic field and future media platforms. The admission procedure is through the DU CSAS Portal based on CUET score. Eligibility for my course in entrance exam is English + 3 domain subjects or English + General Test depending on what fits you. In terms of academic examinations, we have two major semester end exams, most probably one in Dec-Jan & second in May-Jun. Before Semester end theory examinations, we have internal assessments and practicals. So, the examinations not just focus on theory but also give you understanding of media in the past, future and present.

The fee for my course at IHE New Delhi might feel a bit higher as compared to some other DU Colleges. The reason is that it is likely used for development purposes and funding different societies for students.

The faculty are indeed well qualified and trained in both theory and practical aspects. They make classes interesting by using different teaching methods. For practicals, they often use practical manuals which help us to understand in a hands-on way. The best part is that faculty members are approachable and supportive, we can ask our doubts anytime and they guide us whether it's academics or career. It makes environment comfortable.

The Institute has two academic blocks with three floors located in Hauz Khas, which is a prime and well-connected area. The classrooms are spacious & seating is comfortable with good ventilation. There's also an AC library with a peaceful environment and a conference room for events, seminars, competitions and workshops. The canteen is decent with seating arrangement. There is also a sports court known as basketball court for physical exercises and a medical room for emergencies. My favourite spot on campus is foyer area with plants all around making a peaceful place to sit and relax.

Campus life is pretty lively and fun. It's a women’s Institution and the crowd is really good, friendly and supportive. There are a number of societies for almost every interest from dance, social service, media, music to literature, sports, environment and more. Competitions, workshops and events happens from time to time. I feel it's a great way to learn new skills and connect with industry experts. The annual fest ‘FERIA’ when the whole campus lights up with energetic performances, stalls, music and lots of fun.
