One India One World Fest of LPU Jalandhar Promotes Diversity

It is a good & decent University with great infrastructure and good faculty. There are various facilities provided to the students studying at LPU Jalandhar like malls, hospitals, ATMs, banks, shops, etc. The University can improve a bit in terms of placement. It is a ragging-free campus. The University has a crowd of around 40,000 with students coming from different states and countries. The University conducts its own fests like One India, One World, Sports Events, etc.

I choose to pursue B.Tech in Civil Engineering because of my interest in the same. I love to know the science behind construction. You need to score 60% in boards. Admission process is smooth since you can also apply online. Exam is in every month like CA, mid-term exam, and end-term exam. There are 4 CA exams in 5 months, 1 end term exam, and 1 midterm exam. University’s academics prepared me for real life challenges like how to handle stress, pressure and hectic schedule.

The year wise fee of my course was approximately Rs. 1,30,000/-. The University students also have to pay an additional amount of Rs. 3000/- as exam fees on a yearly basis. Moreover, the University has discounts for students based on their percentage in boards, JEE Main marks, State toppers, LPUNEST score and for Category students.

The faculty members were unique in their teaching methods. The faculty members have done their masters, M.Phil, and Ph.D from renowned Institutions. They use whiteboards, PPTs and group discussions to teach the students. The problem solving abilities are different for different members, with some being good and some being average. The teacher student ratio is 1:8. My experience and bonding with faculty member was nice. One great aspect about the faculty here is that they always take classes and complete the syllabus on time.

The University has placement cell that organises paid placement classes. It aids students to enhance their skill-set which is of help to students in the process of securing a placement. They have soft skill classes, group discussions and personnel interview. Various companies like Amazon, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, etc. The highest package was 24 LPA and average is 4.2 LPA. I got placed in non-core company so I skipped.

Yes, the University offers residential facilities like hostels & apartment. The University has 8 boys’ and 8 girls’ hostels with more than 34,000 students residing in them. The residential facilities provide amenities like Wi-Fi, canteen ,laundry, security, etc. Moreover, there are separate residential facilities for girls and boys. The quality of food was nice with meals served three times a day and one time snacks. The hygiene at the mess was ensured. A yearly hostel fee of around Rs. 1,30,000/- was charged from students availing hostel facilities. The timings to enter the hostel for boys were 8 PM while it was 7 PM for girls. Students are prohibited to have alcohol inside the hostel premises.

The University is divided into approximately 60 academic blocks for different courses. The campus is spread over hundreds of acres of land and the University is surrounded with farm land and the main highway. The classrooms are large in size with a seating capacity of around 60. The classrooms are well-equipped with amenities like blackboards, whiteboards and digital boards. The University has a library, labs, seminar hall, auditorium, conference hall, etc. The University has canteen, parking facilities, sports grounds, and facilities for medical assistance, transportation and security of students are also made available. My favorite thing about the University is its Uni Mall where students spend their leisure time.

My overall campus life experience at LPU Jalandhar has been fantastic. There are various clubs for activities like dance, music, literature. fine arts, theater, etc. The University also had opportunities for students to be enrolled in NCC & NSS programs. I was a part of NSS. These clubs and activities give students the chance for their overall development. There were extracurricular activities like sports meet and academic competition. Fests were held too where students represented different States and Countries. One of my favorite fest at the University is 'One India One World'. My campus life at this University was full of excitement with great friends and great academic life.
