DSU Bangalore B.Tech Admission is By KCET & COMEDK Exams

It was actually a very good experience. I don't regret my decision of choosing DSU Bangalore for my UG degree. The University offers a very good teaching staff but the students should not solely depend on the lectures and should also work hard on their part. I would highly recommend this University for many reasons, but the most important aspect in my opinion is the placement opportunities here.

I choose Computer Science and Engineering since it has a lot of scope in the market and we can get a job if we have the required skill set. Students can join this University by appearing for exams like KCET or COMEDK or students can also appear for the University entrance. Semester exams will be conducted every 5 months and in between we have internals. The marking scheme for the exams is 60 marks for internals and 40 marks for externals. Academics will somewhat prepare us for the real life challenges.

Fee of my course was around Rs. 90,000/- (through KCET exam) four years back and University will charge an additional amount of approximately Rs. 25,000/-. The total fee is Rs. 1,15,293/- which is inclusive of the admission and the registration fee. No discounts in fees are provided to special category students. But, students can apply for SSP scholarship.

Some of the faculty members are very friendly while some are strict. They will all try their best to resolve all of your doubts. The teachers are very talented and have great problem solving abilities. Almost all faculty members are Ph.D holders and some are pursing it correspondingly. Maths teacher teaches using blackboard and other subject teachers use PPTs for teaching. Doubts are taken on blackboards. The faculty members are very easy to approach. They helped us a lot with our project work.

Yes, there is a placement cell at DSU Bangalore. They provide students with NeoPat application for them to practice with aptitude and coding tests. They will also conduct daily and weekly test for the students to improve themselves. They will provide pre-placement training every semester. Many renowned MNCs visit the University. The package offered by these companies generally starts from 4 LPA and goes up to 30 LPA. I was attending a placement test daily in the beginning of my 7th semester and it was a wonderful experience. The placements offered are very good and almost 80% of the students get placed in some or the other company.

Yes, the University provides separate residential facilities for male and female students. It is very well-maintained and cleaned. Food is quite good too.

Campus area is 162 acres and is well-maintained and some blocks are still under construction. The classrooms can accommodate around 70 students at a time. The library at this University has ample resources for the students to learn. Seminar halls are also spacious and there are lecture halls with good seating capacity. Canteen is good and the sports infrastructure of the University is great too. Inside the campus, a hospital is there to assist the students in times of need. University-operated buses are there for smooth transportation services for students. The campus is very beautiful.

Overall, it was good. It is not so crowded but the still there are quite a lot of students studying at this University. There are many clubs, and most of them are associated with coding. I was a part of one of the coding clubs. Apart from this, the University also organises various events, including fests, ethnic day and more. Kannada Rajyotsava is also celebrated. Hackathons are also conducted by the University and students are encouraged to participate in them. The University offers a great balance of academic and non-academic activities on-campus.
