Quality Education at NIT Agartala

Overall Rating
The overall Institute experience is good. The Institute will provide safety and security to the students. They will also get a chance to participate in different clubs which would help improve their skills and explore their interests. There are many clubs like Coding club, Robotics club, Fine Arts club and more. You can take part in them as per your interests.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen Electronics and Communication Engineering. Although, this is one of the toughest branches of NIT Agartala, you will learn a lot and it will be worth all the hard work. It can be hectic but the good and generous faculties help you get through it. In each semester, you will have to appear for 2 exams, i.e., mid-terms and end-terms.
The annual fee for students differs based on their annual family income. The fee of my chosen course for the students who have annual income less than Rs. 1,00,000/- is from around Rs. 6000/- to Rs. 10,000/- per semester. For students having an annual family income of Rs. 1,00,000/- to Rs. 5,00,000/- have to pay 1/3rd of the fee. If the annual family income of students is above Rs. 10,00,000/-, they will have to pay the total fee amount which is around Rs. 70,000/- to Rs. 80,000/-. Also, you can apply for ONGC Scholarship in your first year that provides Rs. 48,000/- per year.
 

Faculty Rating
The faulty members are good and well-educated. You will learn a lot from them. They will teach on white boards or with the help of PPTs using projectors. You may reach out to them with problems and they will definitely give you a solution. The teacher- student ratio is good enough. I have good bonds with faculties. All you need is to respect them and reach out to them nicely. They will help you whenever you feel stuck and confuse regarding your course, career and academic problems.
 

Placement Rating
I would say placement is average. But almost everyone gets placed through on-campus placements. Package can vary on the basis of company and role. Currently, I am in fourth year and placement season has started and it is going average.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel is nice. In the first three years of your hostel life, you will be sharing the rooms with your roommates. But, in fourth year, you will be allotted a separate room. The timing for girls’ hostel is 7 PM in winters and 7:30 PM in summers. Mess food can be improved. The hostel fee per semester is around Rs. 25,000/- to Rs. 30,000/-. There are separate hostels for girls and boys. The number of students living at the hostels varies every year. There are a lot of rooms and hostel blocks.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure is nice. The campus is spread over an area of around 333 acres. There is a huge library at the Institute, a state-of-the-art sports complex and many canteens are there. My favorite place is CSE canteen which serves the best meals in my opinion. There is also one hospital for students in the Institute’s premises for medical emergencies. There are 2 auditoriums with 500+ seating capacity and one big administration block is there too.
 

Campus Rating
My overall campus life at NIT Agartala is good. We altogether celebrate all festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Holi and many more festivals. You will cherish all the moments once you get here and involve yourself in these activates. Initially I was part of the Robotics club but due to some personal reason I left it. Also, we get invited by different NITs and IITs to participate in their hackathons and competitions. There is an annual tech fest happening each year.

    The exposure of the Institute is quite appreciable. It has various clubs for the upliftment of the student. Since it is a Institute of national importance so students come from almost every corner of the country and one gets an opportunity to learn something from every culture of India.     Overall Rating
    NIT-A is one of the top NITs in North-East India. It is situated in Agartala, which is the capital of Tripura state. I have joined it in 2024 through JoSAA. Until now, my experience with this institute is great. Apart from studies, you get a good exposure of clubs, sports and of course the beauty of nature.
