Dumka Engineering College: Insides from POV of 3rd Year Student

Overall Rating
The Dumka Engineering College, Dhumka is honestly a decent place for students who want a peaceful environment to study in and I think the reason is that it is managed by Techno India Group (as Private-Public Partnership). I chose this College because the fee is affordable and also it is a Government Institution so the education quality is better compared to many private ones. The environment is not very fancy but it feels comfortable for students like me. The College is still developing, so some facilities are not perfect, but overall my experience is decent and I feel it’s a good option for students from nearby areas.
 

Academics Rating
My branch is Mechanical Engineering. I was very keen to learn about machines, so I chose this course. JCECEB is an exam which is conducted; and by entering and securing good marks in this exam one can get admission in good Colleges. The admission process is very good, and the teachers themselves do the counselling. One semester lasts about 4 to 5 months and there are 2 mid-semester exams in between. Academic preparation is very good, and the syllabus is completed on time so there is no problem in the exam.
The fee of the degree I have chosen is Rs. 20,172/-, say for 1 year or for 2 semesters, normally the fee of a paid seat is Rs. 35,000/- to Rs. 40,000/-. Since I belong to the general category, I do not get any scholarship, but all other categories get scholarship through Ekalyan.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of Dumka Engineering College, Dhumka and specially my course is very good and cooperative regarding their respective subjects. They are also well-educated in their respective branches and are very helpful. The teacher to student ratio is also ok and our bonding with almost all the teachers is great. One thing I like here is that teachers are supportive and they try to explain things even if you ask same doubt again.
 

Placement Rating
Talking about the Placement Cell, it is also very good and students are placed on good packages. I have some seniors who have secured packages in big companies.
 

Hostel Rating
There is a hostel in the College whose fee is around Rs. 20,000/-.
 

Infrastructure Rating
As it was established in 2014, the infrastructure of Dumka Engineering College is very good, so there is no need to worry about this thing. There is a separate building for every branch where classes are held. There is also a seminar hall for gathering things. There are labs related to all the branches, and there is a workshop as well where practical classes are taken.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is very good and the students are also very friendly in nature. There is a sports day once a year in which we all participate and play. There are many games in this event like cricket, football, badminton, chess, carom, etc, so the mind also develops along with games. This day everyone has a lot of fun. There are dance festivals in which big singers come to perform, and we also perform.

    This is a Public-Private Partnership Institute as it has 5 branches such as Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering. More than 3 branches are NAAC & NBA accredited as well. The College provides both free seat and payment seat based on Government & private partnership.
