Miranda House Delhi: A Second Home for Girls

Overall Rating
Miranda House College New Delhi was my safe haven for three years. This College is a journey of transformation of a girl with dreamy eyes into an ambitious and empowered woman. I chose this Institution because here we did not look around for a guy to pick up a table or be the leader just because he was a boy. Girls are recommended to be a part of this Institution because it breaks the stereotypes.
 

Academics Rating
I chose Philosophy because that is one discipline that resonates with my personality. Coming from a background which restricted me made me look forward to something that was liberating and enlightening. The eligibility criteria was based on CUET scores and admission process was done through the official website. Exams consisted of internal assessments and end-semester papers. The Academics taught me that for a good cause if you are determined, you can overcome any obstacle.
The fee was pretty affordable. It was Rs. 14,000/- every year for three years and was inclusive of all the other charges. The fee was quite the same for almost everybody but they did provide certain scholarship facilities for people coming from marginalised sections of the society. Fee structure also included certain subsidies and concessions for students from Economically Weaker Sections.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty at Miranda House Delhi came from diverse backgrounds which brought an amalgamation of multiple cultures and various ideologies. The method used was an appropriate combination of traditional and modern teaching. Professors were of a know-it-all kind of persona with quite efficient problem-solving skills. The teacher-student ratio was accurate as per the demands. Their critical and caring nature made them highly approachable. The years of knowledge and expertise made them both intellectually and emotionally available.
 

Placement Rating
We had a Placement Cell managed by young intelligent women who were compassionate enough to share all the leads with fellow students. They frequently organised placement related fests, providing a fun and creative way to get a job. A few renowned companies that came to recruit were Google, IFFCO, etc. I did not go for any placements but the shared experience was quite smooth and satisfying.
 

Hostel Rating
It provided one of the best hostel facilities with frequently organised activities from Freshers' to Farewell and everything in between. It was an all girls’ hostel which even made the parents feel secure and satisfied. It had a beautiful vintage Mess which was highly hygienic with a balanced diet and provided four meals everyday. The best part was that our hostel did not have any curfew time which was fair for the girls, according to me.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Miranda House College New Delhi campus had different blocks. The locality was quite spacious with a peaceful environment. It had theatre-style Classrooms, an aesthetic Library, huge Labs, beautiful Auditorium, and a Student Activity Corner. It had the best Canteen in the entire North campus. Moreover, there was a synthetic Basketball Court and a Medical Room. For Security, it had lady Guards too which was empowering in the truest sense. My favourite place was the front lawn which had the most pleasing ambience. The Library had books related to all the genres complemented the course teaching.
 

Campus Rating
My campus shaped my overall personality in the best way. The crowd stood true to the Preamble of India, “Unity in Diversity”. There were various societies and clubs namely, Debsoc, Tanz (western dance society), and Mridang and I was a member of the Celluloid Club, the film making society. It was affiliated with some NGOs, an opportunity which aroused the empathetic and humble social worker in a person. ‘Tempest’ was the annual fest which was considered one of the best. In short, if life allows me to go back to the campus, I would run in the direction of the place which made me feel the best version of myself!

    I will be very honest on what is so special about our college Miranda House College. We all aspire to get maximum benefits or maximum gain at a bearable cost. Our college provides the best education facilities, best faculty members, good infrastructure, and hostel facility at a very affordable price.
