UPES Dehradun Placement Rate is Around 92%

I chose the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Dehradun because the exposure provided by the University was very exceptional. The campus was very big and there were different buildings for different courses like Business, Law, and Design. The University not only excelled in Academics but also had many cultural programmes. Overall, the University was really good and had a very good location.

The course chosen by me was BBA, a 3 year program. I chose this course because it provided numerous specialisations that a student could choose from. The eligibility criteria for this course required us to secure good percentage in 12th boards and then in the second round, we had to clear the Personal Interview round conducted at this University. There were two Exams conducted each semester including mid-term and final-term. The Academics prepared us really well as we were taught the application side of Business which helped in the future.

The fee structure of this University was really good. Students who did well in the exams got the merit-based scholarship which was around 10 to 15 percent off on their semester fees.

The faculties at UPES Dehradun were really exceptional and friendly. They mostly came from Universities like the top IIMs. The knowledge that they provided was not only just bookish knowledge but also practical knowledge and experiences. Their teaching method included Whiteboards, PPTs, and Group Discussions. Not only that, we sometimes did Dramas of major financial crisis so that we could understand it much better. The teachers were very understanding and did not get upset if we asked the same question again and again. The teacher-student ratio was quite balanced. My bonding with the faculty was very good. I still have their contacts and we are on talking terms. Till this date, if I get any issue they are always available.

There is a Placement Cell in my University which helps the students to get job opportunities. The placement rate is around 92% which is pretty good.

The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Dehradun campus was divided into two, first being the Kandoli campus which had courses like Business, Law, and Media. The other campus was Bidholi and had courses like Design, Engineering, Healthcare, and many more. The distance between both the campuses was around 4 kms. The Classrooms were huge and had a good seating capacity. Other than that, the University had a big Library which provided all the books of the subjects which were taught to us in the University and could be taken by issuing it. It also has a Conference Hall, Football Ground, Basketball Court, Badminton Court, Very Affordable Canteen, etc. The University also provided good transportation facilities to the students. My favourite place in the University to hangout was the Table Tennis Court as in our spare time, we all friends used to go there and enjoy.

My overall campus life was really great. I learnt a lot during this journey of mine. About the University crowd, it included both good students & bad students and it was only our choice that where we thought we had to step up. There were many Clubs like Sports, Cultural, Music, Literature, Finance, Marketing, and many more. I was the PR head of the Literature Committee of the University and was also the member of the cultural club. The University organised many fests. ‘URJA’ was the main University fest which went upto 3 days. In the end, I would like to say that overall, I had a good exposure in my University and I would recommend other students to join it.
