As per NIRF 2025, IIT Guwahati is Ranked 11th under 'Overall' Category

IIT Guwahati is in one of the top 10 Institutes in India. The campus is huge and one of the most beautiful IITs. The course work is good but the workload is very high, you have to work for 12 hours daily if you will not able to do you will be left behind in competition. I have chosen this because it is one of the top tiers Institute of India and worlds ranking is 344. Many programs takes place at the Institute & some of these are Spardha (Inter hostel sports competition), Cultural festival (Alcheringa), and, Technical fest (Techniche). From gym to cricket field, to healthy food to great transport facility to go outside campus to main city, facilities are available at the Institute.

• It has meticulously planned industry relevant curriculum of the M.Tech program & greater attention towards research aspect.
• Offers technically advanced infrastructure & campus facilities such as internet connectivity, sports & gym, accommodations, and so on.
• Comprises a dedicated team at CCD (Centre for Carrier Development) to provide adequate career support that leads students secure jobs. The salary packages range from 1.25 Crore Per Annum.
• Regular conduction of events such as Alcheringa – a cultural fest, Techniche – a tech fest, Spardha – a sports fest, and others to ensure that students enjoy their campus life and grow holistically.

I have chosen this course because I want to do my higher studies from one of the top most Institute of India. For selection in M.Tech course, you have to qualify GATE with at least in 2000 all India rank They took exam frequently first, you have to give test and 2 exams in one semester mid semester and end semester. There will be 4 semesters and after 2 semesters, you have to work on Project for one year.

In first semester, you have to pay Rs. 80,000/- and after that, you have to Rs. 60,000/- per semester. for this course, overall you have to pay at least Rs. 2, 70,000/-.

The teachers are highly qualified. All of them have done their Ph.Ds. They teach on whiteboard also with PPTs but mostly on boards. They have excellent problem solving ability. Teacher to student ratio is 1:40. They have great bonding with students. You can ask any question, you will get a supervisor for daily life problems.

There is a group we call CCD (Centre for Carrier Development). they look after the student’s placement. Average package for M.Tech student are 15 LPA and highest CTC is upto 1.25 Crore per Annum.

Yes, Institute offers residential facilities. At the residences, everything is provided from food to gym, Library, chairs, Free internet, filter, sports equipment, music room, etc. Girls’ and Boys’ hostels are separate. Good quality is provided three times a day, which are ‘Breakfast’, ‘Lunch’, and ‘Dinner’. The fee of the hostel is Rs. 20,000/- for 4 months. My overall experience is Good.

Campus is divided in four parts. There are academic buildings for all the branches and big Institute library. The sports ground for every sport from Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton court, gym, etc. Students are provided with free transport facilities.

My campus life is great. There are at least 8000 students. There are many clubs like Technical clubs, sports clubs, Sports clubs, and others. Extracurricular activities like yoga season, cultural fest ‘Alcheringa’, Technical fest ‘Techniche’, ‘Spardha’ annual inter hostel competition. In addition, SPIRIT biggest sports festival in Northeast India organized by IIT Guwahati.
