IIT Kanpur is a very beautiful campus with a good environment for studying. I like the atmosphere of my college very much. In terms of study, it is the best college with experienced faculty; rarely, some professors classes we can't understand, but we can compensate for it by watching YouTube lectures. If it comes to food, I can't say the entire menu of a mess is good; only some dishes are good and some are ok. Because there are so many good dishes in canteens, students prefer to eat there rather than in mess. If it comes to sports, the main stadium of IIT Kanpur is very big, and almost all the sport facilities are there. So, sports persons can also enjoy the campus life a lot. There were so many festivals and cultural programs, a lot of club activities, and so many useful sessions. At last, the placements at my college are also very good. Last year, it was 100% placements with a good average package, so I can say my college is the best for developing careers and shaping good lives.

I can say that the academics at IIT Kanpur are a bit stricter than those at other colleges, from my point of view. The grading policy is also very strict. Professors usually prefer relative grading, and rarely, some professors prefer absolute grading. In my college, professors have all the powers; they can even remove one student from college if the student's behavior is not proper with them. If it comes to courses, most of the branch templates are already fixed, and only some courses we have to elect on our own, and that's in our 3rd or 4th year. So, I can say that the academics are not very flexible. But they made nice templates for each branch. The lecture content is also sometimes boring; so many professors’ classes are not easily understandable, so many students prefer to watch lectures through YouTube, NPTEL, and some other sources based on their lack of understanding. Some professors grading is good, and most professors grading is not good and very strict. So, those who don't mind about grades or those who are exceptionally good in studies will survive in my college better.

The faculty at IIT Kanpur is very experienced. One interesting fact about my college faculty is that the majority of them only attended IIT Kanpur, received their PhDs here, and then became professors here. So, almost all the professors have exceptional knowledge, but only a few have the teaching talent. Because of that gap, so many students are not able to understand the professors lectures properly, and almost all of them prefer to watch lectures from other sources like YouTube. I can't say that all the professors are bad at teaching, but till now, in my branch and in my courses, 90% of the professors are like that. So, here, professors are very good at guiding students towards a PhD and good at explaining the projects for research and helping with research rather than teaching.

My college has a placement cell, and it works very well. The placement coordinators guide all the students on a good path with some sessions. Every year, almost all the students get placed. Most of the students prefer to go towards the software side, and fewer students prefer to go into core jobs. So, most of the students prepare for coding to get jobs. In my college, every year students prefer to learn coding through the Greek website and the InterviewBit website. My seniors who got placed also suggested these to me for preparing codes. So, overall, I can say that the placements at my college are good. Last year, it was 100% placement.

In my college, there are 12 halls. Two of them are girls halls, and the remaining are boys halls. Girls halls are very big and there are only two, but boys halls are small and they are dispersed. There is one more hostel that is under construction. The hostels are very good but not sufficient. The strength is greater and the rooms are smaller. We are staying with two members in single rooms and three members in double rooms. Some people are ok, but the ones who are uncomfortable with a lot of things are not ok to adjust in small rooms. Each room has a table and chair, one almairah, and one bed for sleeping. Room has internet facilities and is good for sleeping.

Initially I thought so many buildings are under construction, because so many buildings look with bricks. But I understood later that they are style here. And other buildings which are new are good with new designs but old buildings are not attractive with brick design. Inside the building infrastructure is very good. In lecture halls it is top most good with so many lights and AC and fans. And in almost all the offices the infrastructure is very good except in hostels.

The campus life is very enjoyable at my college. It is because the rules are very flexible for us. We can go out of college at any time and come in at any time by signing at the gate, and there is no separate rule. And there are so many clubs and so many sports that you can shape your life in any way you want. You can explore a lot of things here. There are so many singers, dancers, artists, and gamers that we can explore all the things in which we are interested. Also, we can get a lot of loyal friends here. So life is very chill here.
