Sona College of Technology, Salem Honest Review

Overall Rating
Our institute is one of oldest and best institutes of Salem. In 2020 our institute got a 150 rank among top institutes by NIRF. Our institute’s vision is to provide quality education. Best part is they provide 100% scholarship. The course fee is very less and for B.Tech course you don’t have to give any entrance exam. You can directly apply through online or offline modes. The institute gives good placement support. Apart from this the institute provides sport facilities and encourages us to participate in extracurricular activities.
 

Academics Rating
I enrolled for B.Tech (4 year) course. I applied through the offline process and I easily got admission because I have a good score in intermediate exam. Admission process went smoothly. As per now they take Rs. 55,000 per year and extra fee is there like exam fees. The placements here are very good. Quality education is provided as well by the institute.
 

Faculty Rating
Our department has 39 teaching and 8 non teaching staff. Among them 10+ faculty has PhD degrees and other faculty has ME and M.Tech degrees respectively. Their teaching style is far better than teachers at any other institute. All faculties help in preparation for the GATE exam and they give extra time for doubt clearance. Before starting the class they revise every topic which helps in upcoming learning process.
 

Placement Rating
Our institute provides 100% placement support. In 2022 one of students got a package of 14 LPA and most of the students got an average package of 4.5 LPA. Placement training support is also there as they provide training to the final and pre-final year student. Whereas from 5th semester the students are eligible for placement. Companies like Atos Syntel, IBM, NCR, Infosys, etc. come for placement.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel is available for both boys and girls. The fee depends upon the room. The fee for the hostel room ranges from between Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 95,000. Rooms are 2 / 3 / 4 – sharing. Hostel has a common TV and strong Wi-Fi connectivity is also there. The rooms are always kept neat and clean. In a room, a cupboard, a study table, a lamp, etc. are provided to the students. Food is provided thrice in a day in which vegetarian and non-vegetarian both varieties are available.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our institute has the best infrastructure ever. All classrooms are well maintained and are cleaned regularly. The lab rooms have AC. For the teachers and the students common rooms are present. Accommodation is available for both boys and girls. Seminar hall and auditorium are also present. For food a big canteen and one cafeteria are there.
 

Campus Rating
This institute changed my life because it provided quality education and the best placement support. Not only this they are also good in study and encourage us to participate in different extracurricular activities. There are so many clubs for several activities like dancing, singing, coding, quiz, photography, NSS, tree plantation, etc. This is the best college that I have studied in.

    I was very much interested to join this college for Mechatronics Engineering course. I'm fond of Mechatronics and Electronics, and this particular college has a great environment to study those subjects.   • Sona College's Hostels: Facilities, Fees, and Dining
     

    Overall Rating
    I am a first year student (batch 2024-28) from Karur, near Salem. This college has great liberty for students who get average to high marks. If you are a local in Salem, this college is a wonderful option as it is number 1 in Salem (private). Scoring 30/50 in monthly exams is decent enough for teachers.     This institution has very knowledgeable professors and teachers. They are very kind except some teachers. The college gives you full freedom that you can go outside for important works and this college canteen has some excellent snacks for the students. This institution is best for students who prefer to stay in Salem and pursue a degree and it has some excellent placements as well. This college has excellent and friendly teachers.     The experience in Sona College of Technology Salem is quite nice. I joined this university in 2024 by 12th marks. I thought joining this college is hard but it is quite simple. I suggest my junior to join this college for the Infrastructure and many things I appreciate this college for the teaching qualities of teachers and friendly attitude of them.
