Eligibility and Fee Structure of Sona College of Technology

I was very much interested to join this college for Mechatronics Engineering course. I'm fond of Mechatronics and Electronics, and this particular college has a great environment to study those subjects. Here, in Sona College, we have better social networking and social environment to mingle with likeminded people. I am having a great exposure from being in this college, my seniors are well educated and possess great technical skills. Their involvement with juniors like us is also great. It is a ragging free campus. We have great cultural events like, Hackathons, Techathons, Incubation Centers, etc. So if you are looking for a different environment from school based colleges, you can opt this one as a best ever choice!

The course, which I have taken, is Mechatronics Engineering; it has a great opportunity in the near coming future. And that's the reason I have opted for this one. And I'm recommending you to choose this particular course in here because, you'll be getting a high level different exposure when you get involved in projects and academics. The subjects comes under this course are Electronics, Computer Applications & Mechanical. To get into the college, you can either enroll through TNEA counseling conducted by Tamil Nadu Government or get in through management Quota. You will be having 3 internal exams per semester, which will be held 1nce a month. Well they not only focus on academics, but also in real life projects and you will be well coordinated for placements.

When it comes to fee structure, tuition fees is Rs. 1,50,000 for major courses. No admission fees for TNEA students but management students will be having some fee. Semester fee depends on the number of papers and to be precise it will not exceed Rs. 4,000. Any type of Central and State Government scholarships is applicable. Special quota students will have a considerable amount of scholarship from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 50,000. AICTE scholarship is also applicable & scholarships for students with high cutoff are also available.

The faculties are well equipped, each one of them has PhDs and Masters in their own subjects, and everybody has played their role in Research and development for some considerable years. Their method of teaching is awesome. You will understand everything, what they teach you but you have to work yourself to get online resources to gain additional knowledge. I do not have any specific bonding with my teachers, but still teachers are friendly. Most of them have good problem solving skills, but still some faculties are exceptionally talented in problem solving.

We have 96 % of placements every academic year. Students get minimum package of 5.5 LPA. And when we talk about core placements, it is impeccable, we have 33 LPA- 40 LPA of Japanese placements and students are trained in Japanese language to get those placements. Core companies take Mechanical students for 9.9 LPA, which is very good.

I'm a hosteller and I'm proud to say that my hostel is well sufficient and sophisticated to live in. They are well equipped and maintained; you won't be having any inconvenience in hostel. We don't have any strict rules in our hostel and good food is provided.

A massive infrastructure can be seen in this particular college, we have the biggest library called ‘Sona library’, both digital library and normal library are available. Each department has their own building and practical lab. For our department Mechatronics, we have an auditorium, which is very good and massive. My favorite part is open auditorium. We have 3 canteens with affordable items to buy and taste is good there.

Overall my campus is a heaven to lead your studies and improve your knowledge. A descent crowd is there and it is not over populated. There are plenty of clubs in which you can participate and get exposed to many events and improvise yourself. We have Sonaria, Sonata, Krivaas as cultural and Sona English club, Atha Club and Literature Club as educational clubs. My experience here is that I love this college and to be a part of it. You can expect lots and lots of fun events and inaugurations in here.
