National Institute of Technology B.Tech Review By Asif Khan

I am pursuing Electronics and Communication Engineering from NIT, Trichy. I am currently a 3rd year student. I am here because of counseling. I filled this institute in the top position for the JoSAA counseling and according to my rank the ECE branch was allotted to me. As per my expectations this college is worth in terms of academics, internship, and placements. The only demerit according to me is the location which is 19 – 20 km away from the city so it sometimes becomes difficult to travel. The campus is very big and beautiful.

My branch is Electronics and Communication Engineering. In each semester 8 subjects are there including 2 labs practical. There are different types of courses like program course which is compulsory, program elective which we have to complete minimum 8 subjects out of 14 electives, and open elective is also there. 75% attendance is compulsory for all branches.

Faculty in NIT Trichy is very good. Some professors are very supportive. You can do internship in any domain under any professor according to your choice and if you are good then they also give LOR (Letter of Recommendation) in future for any research type internships. The best thing I like in all my professors is that they treat all students as equals.

Yes, a Training and Placement is there. It is very helpful for mentoring each and every student. The average placement in this college is nearly 20-25 LPA which is very great. If you want placement then come to this college and you will never regret.

There are 22 hostels in NIT Trichy and 6 food messes (2 North Indian, 2 South Indian, 1 Kerala, and 1 Andhra). In every hostel there is a washing machine and water cooler at every floor. 2 students per room are allowed for every batch and you can choose your roommate as per your own choice.

Overall this college is very big, beautiful, and great for internships and placements. There are so many buildings like Orion where class happens for circuital branches and Logos for non Circuital branches. Separate buildings for each department. A very big library and a building named Octagon (fully AC) where we study 24x7. There are all types of shops inside the campus.

College life is also good in this college. All types of clubs and societies are there for technical, non technical, management, etc. College crowd is of nearly 4,000 – 5,000 students. There are so many fests like in odd semester a fest named Festember happens and in even semesters 2-3 fests named NIT Fest, Pragyan, Sportfete, and other departmental fests also happen.
