Passing the GATE exam with a good rank is the only way to get into PICT because the criteria for admissions is based on merit. Pune is world famous for its engineering colleges. The reason I say world famous is because one will see a lot of foreign crowds in Pune colleges and city in general. I have never seen anything in Ahmedabad and therefore coming here was a pleasurable experience for me. PICT was an obvious choice as the course I wanted to do, PICT was the best college in it and more importantly when I checked the placement record, they were immaculate. PICT is one of the best engineering colleges in Pune affiliated with Pune University. The college perhaps ranks lesser than VIT, D. Y. Patil, or COEP, but if one wants to pursue IT, EEE, or CSE, PICT is arguably one of the best. Along with MH-CET, the college also accepts JEE scores. The college standards are as high as anything, and intake is less. Even with a good score, getting admissions at PICT can be tricky because an interview also has to be passed. I was never into engineering, but my friends and family's pressure made me prepare for the entrances. Eventually, I scored well and landed at PICT Pune, around 300 miles from my hometown Surat. There are many engineering colleges in Pune for Computer engineering, but PICT is the best without an iota of doubt. Only the top students from MH-CET get admissions here.
