IIEST Shibpur stands as one of India's oldest engineering colleges, renowned for its splendid campus and a community of intellectually vibrant students. The Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering department excels in delivering quality education. The lush greenery within the campus and the proximity of the Botanical Garden, just a 5 minute walk from the second gate, add to its serene environment. Situated opposite the Vidyasagar Bridge, accessing college street in Kolkata for books and entertainment becomes a seamless experience. The active involvement of diverse clubs enriches the overall student experience. Opting for IIEST was a natural choice, following the prestigious IITs, given its academic excellence and enriching atmosphere.

IIEST Shibpur offers nearly 10 B.Tech courses, providing a diverse range of academic options. Admission requires clearing JEE mains with a competitive score. The faculty comprises excellent professors, though variations in teaching quality exist among them. First year students aiming to change their branch may experience some academic pressure. Exams at IIEST are relatively tougher compared to other colleges, with assessments every two months (mid-sem and end-sem). Well-maintained labs contribute to a conducive learning environment. Lab assistants and professors are supportive and helpful in facilitating practical learning experiences.

Professors are really good. But as always some of them are not good. They all are Highly Qualified in their fields. Their styles of teaching are different than one another. Some of them are really good at teaching but classes by others are boring. There are strict policy on attendance and punctuality.

Buildings are in good condition. There is a relatively new building named S&T where all the first year classes are held. Classrooms has good infrastructure. Each class contains nice bench, projectors, fans, and light. Condition of UG labs is good. Even Our Clubs has nice equipment and funding. For example Robotics club has a working 3D printer.

Campus Life is joyful. There is lots of greenery. Classes usually start from 9:00 AM. There are lots of clubs, for e.g. - Robotics, coding, Music, Arts, etc. Each of them is highly active. They also arrange their own programs. Also there is a college fest. In fest multiple activities are happened from robot fight to music.
