My overall experience in the college has been very mixed. I say this because it has been a roller-coaster ride. It is never the same; nothing is constant. But speaking from a very general perspective, my experience has been good till now. Ups & downs are bound to happen; they are everywhere. Great friends, good overall environment, healthy competition between peers that helps you stay on your toes for everything, and great opportunities are provided in various field. The college has provided me with almost everything that I expected from it, and somewhat more, in fact. From enjoying the greenery around the campus to playing in well maintained basketball courts, from eating in one of the 35 places to eat to enjoying the meals from across the world offered by the Hotel Management students, it has somewhat been a very wholesome experience. Regular functions and events have helped us take a break from the classes and not missing out on the attendance, dance competitions, drama competitions, etc. have always helped us to cope with the hectic everyday schedule. All in all, I would like to say that my experience till now has been very pleasant and nice and I cannot speak for the rest but I am sure they would also agree to the same.

Christ (deemed to be University) has a lot of courses to offer. They have around 4-5 campuses across India at the moment and the central campus is the one that is most in demand. Situated in the heart of the city, it boasts a beautiful infrastructure and top class facilities for its students. In the central campus alone, there are about 7 different departments that offer multiple courses. The demand for a few courses, such as Commerce and a few in Law, is very high; therefore, the qualification criteria for these courses are higher than usual. Apart from considering your school results, one has to clear their entrance test, which is conducted in different ways for different courses, Being in law; I had an objective test with negative marking. Once you clear the test, shortly after, the candidate is supposed to appear for a personal interview, which is conducted by the faculty itself. The main aim of this personal interview is to assess a few basic qualities that a student should possess. From confidence to general awareness, everything is taken in consideration. Moreover, they also check whether the candidate has basic knowledge about the course that they have applied for. Clearing both levels is not a very difficult task if you are well prepared. Once you successfully enter the course, there is a plethora of opportunities, both co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that one can take part in. Most of these activities complement the subject matter of the courses that are offered. It might, however, get very hectic to manage and balance everything and also to make a very good CV but that is something that every student has to do in their college time. Exams can also get a bit difficult if you are not thorough with the concepts taught in class, but if you pay enough attention to the classes, it is enough to do well in your exams, even if you study the night before.

The faculties in our college are pretty chill but at the same time, they are also very professional. Immensely experienced and knowledgeable, but at times sticklers for rules. College rules for certain things are very stringent, for example, not extending the time to take attendance. If the class starts at 9:00 AM, then the attendance will start at 9:00 sharp, and even if you are late by 1-2 minutes, you end missing your whole hour. However, there might be some exceptions, but that's the majority of behavior across departments. Other than that, they are pretty understanding and take student's requests into consideration more often than not. They often opt for unique methods to put across the lessons and assignments are also, at times, fun and creative.

In the last batch, out of 300 odd students, a total of 90–95 students got placed through the college Placements Cell. Majority of the rest of the people opted to either start their own firms or work under some other advocate. The Placements Cell has been very active over the years and has not failed to improve their numbers constantly. Working around the year, they try to get the students the best opportunities from the best companies and law firms. Moreover, frequently conduct workshops and guest lectures to let the students get an insight of the industry and prep them for the same. The best law firms like CAM, SAM. Trilegal, and Khaitan & Co. actively come for recruitment and hire students from our college. The highest salary last batch saw from the college placement was around 18 LPA. Placements in general are very good from college.

I have not opted for a hostel, but as far as I have heard, they are pretty decent, but the curfew and some other rules are pretty strict as it is inside the college premises. However, there are tons and tons of options available near the college. Goes by the name of SG Palya, this area is attached to the college and you can find a lot PGs and flats, depending upon your requirements. In my personal opinion, in your 1st year, take a PG and then later move out into a flat, by then you will be accustomed to the kind of hassle it is to live alone.

The college has a great infrastructure to offer. The campus is very vibrant and is always chirping. From places to hangout to playing sports like basketball and whatnot, it has everything in abundance. Parking for vehicles and cafeterias, eateries and food joints, the college has around 30-35 different places to choose from when it comes to food. The food provided might not be the healthiest as its mostly fast food, but if you want to eat once in a while, then that will not be an issue. The college is situated at a very prime location and therefore, a lot of nice places to eat and party are very close by, walk able distance. Kormangla, known for its party places is 5–10 minutes away. Inside college, the overall atmosphere is also very soothing; we also have a bird’s park with small birds.

Overall, campus life is very happening. There's always some or the other event going on in campus. The crowd in the college is pretty chill and easy going and you will always bump into a christite anywhere you go over the weekend, within 5 kms radius, Christ has its own fest apart from all the other department wise fests. From cultural to sports fests, they go on around the year. It might not be as big as other colleges and attendance criteria is very strict and they don’t let you go away just like that. But after class hours, there are plenty of activities available for the students. You either can get lazy and hit the bed straight away or just hang around in college and do something, it can be either sports or drama or singing, anything. That is also one of the easiest ways to make friends beyond your class and department, networking is an essential practice in the real life and that is something one should start from the college days itself.
