Christ University MBA Review By Mukesh Parakh

Christ University is as famous as Bangalore in India. If you tell anyone that you study in Bangalore, the first thing that you will be asked will be, in Christ? I felt so proud and still proud as Christ has not only provided me good placements but many students from my town ask me for the colleges they should choose and which course they should try. Christ University is one of the best private universities in India and is ranked among the best every year. Yes, there’s a section that Christ is money seeking corporate house but which private college in India doesn’t have high fees. The only thing that I was worried for was placements and they are top class at Christ University. Practicals of real scenarios and outdoor tours and activities to give students extra leverage while studying. College management puts a lot of effort that students should get involved in various college activities and that is why your development at Christ is not just limited to academics. All in all, Christ provides students the promised salary packages and this is the reason MBA from Christ is always in demand.

Business strategy through case studies is taught here. In between classes we were given the problems to solve. Out of 64 from our class it would be checked for 4-5 but if it wasn’t in order the harsh punishments beckons. Thus, one has to be attentive at the classes as the University is very strict. Not just in class but beyond class too, there are many strict rules. Wearing I-Card, following the dress code and not ganging up in one area and all has to be followed. One has to be ready to work 24*7 as 9 to 6 classes and then assignments that will take up to 1 pm was our schedule while doing MBA.

To me they were the best as all the faculty were PhD holders of their respective subjects. Not just the degrees but their teaching techniques and way that taught us everything in gist was so amazing. It’s not that they teach in gist and their job is over. If any doubts, we can ask them during the classes or before the next classes but one has to be careful that they don’t ask the things taught today a month after. Strictness wise Christ is too much but all this made things favorable for us in future.

No college or university provides 100% placements. Same was with Christ as the placement was not 100% but students can only have their heads over heels for not getting placed. The placement department here is run by ex-students and they keep a track of our preferences. IT companies are the prominent ones but my choice was FMCG and luckily there were enough companies of the sector. Likewise, logistics, banking, and all sectors’ companies were present and we all had our sights on the companies we wished for. The university promised realistic jobs and they were fulfilled. Average packages of 8-10 lakhs was better than various private MBA colleges.

The Kengeri campus of Christ University has well furnished residential halls. For boys there’s just one building known as Devadan Hall while for girls there were 3 halls. The rooms are like hotel rooms with 2 separate beds and AC installed in each rooms. The twin sharing rooms has 2 study tables and separate lockers. The residential hall has common mess and students can also arrange their meal in university cafes as food was not for my liking. Entire south Indian menu and luckily, they have the option of opting mess facility or not. After the 1st semester I mostly had food in the luxurious cafés of the campus.

The Kengeri campus is the largest campus of the university which is spread in nearly 80 acres. There are 4 colleges of the University at Kengeri campus and all 4 had their own facilities apart from the hostels which were common. The classes are air-conditioned and so is the reading hall of the library. The sick room is available in all the buildings of the university and all the buildings are different from each other. The admin block was the most beautiful of them all. There are four cafés and one can find Mexican to Italian all their favorite cuisines inside the campus. The university is located at Mysore Road and bus stand was nearby. Even Ola and Uber facilities are easily available, so even though it’s far from main city one can get everything available to them in 3-4 kms from the university building. The university has bus facilities for students and every hour there are buses that goes to university’s other campuses. The university has built world class stadium inside the campus with floodlights and all.

Luckily, I could see people from various states and countries as NRI students also make their way to Christ University. The college fest and intra Christ university program were held every week. However, MBA students hardly had time for all these and I skipped most of the events even though I didn’t want to.
