Jyoti Nivas College B.A Review By Ishika Bothra

I m an UPSC aspirant. Jyoti Nivas was my first choice in Bangalore as it gives perfect blend of subjects like public administration, sociology, and economics that helps me to understand all the three subjects. It helped me to understand my area of interest and explore the same. About college, I would rate it 8/10, it has good infrastructure that is equipped with library, canteen, main building, administration block, sports ground, gym, various labs and departments. College focuses on overall development from studies by providing us opportunities through various activities help like fests, competition, etc.

I pursued triple measure in economics, sociology, and, public administration. I got direct admission. We were 2nd batch as the course was new in college. They had good syllabus and exam paper level is also at moderate level. Course is very much related to practical aspects of life and it is up to date.

All the faculty members are well educated and experienced and have conceptual clarity that makes them perfect to deliver the same to students. All faculty members are easily approachable, they have helping attitude and are friendly. English department was my favorite as their style of teaching is too good.

Jyoti Nivas college does have a Placement Cell in college but I didn't wanted to get into corporate so I don’t have much idea about the same. They charge some amount as fee for placements.

Jyoti Nivas College does have hostel facility, with good infrastructure. It is based in the campus which reduces the travel time. They provide mess food, tight security, and homely conditions to the hostellers.

Jyoti Nivas college has a big campus, around 60 plus classrooms and accommodation facility for around 100 students. It also has some big classrooms. There are two big auditorium, big sports ground, parking facility, etc. Various laboratory and different departments are provided by the college.

As Jyoti Nivas College focuses on overall development of student. You will find various clubs like rotract club, entrepreneurship development club, national social service club, national cadit corps club, dramatic society, dance and music club, theatre club, different bands, history society and a women’s society is available. There are strict provisions against ragging. Internal complaint committee is present to look into any matter of atrocity.
