'MSRUAS' is different from many as very soon I made friends with seniors and that got my College life going at the campus. Otherwise, making friends with seniors can be tough, but since the campus is ragging free, I always felt quite secure at the campus. Being an outsider in a state which is local language dominant, it becomes difficult to get going, but not at MSRUAS. The campus had one dominant language and that was English. Everyone knows that with Bangalore the Colleges and Universities over here operate differently. I was, though, surprised by the way they approached education here. Even after passing out, I couldn't figure out the module system that they had put down. I kept presuming that ok, this will happen next or we will be taught a certain way. The back of my mind always kept telling me to put all my thoughts to rest as the University is full of surprises and be ready for some more every other day you woke up. The University was clear that this is how we will take education further and these are our resources. Nothing was left in the hut as the pandora bag opened and showed all the things that University has to offer in the course of three years.

Education system was not a surprise because the syllabus was more or less the same that Colleges like Christ or St. Joseph have in their curriculum. My seniors helped me out and told me that the University is new but will do exceptionally well as the modules will be done in no time and we will have ample time to prepare for competitive exams like CAT, XAT, SNAP and others. Sometimes we see a formula from a certain College, but from MSRUAS, my advice would be to not expect it, because even if there was a formula, at least I couldn't crack it.

The faculty on occasions were great, while on some they looked too harsh. It was left for students to adapt as per the wishes of the faculties. The University has tram lines and the faculty's focus was entirely on that. It worked out better though, because the strictness was still in our favor; it's that when we had time in completing the modules, they didn't let slip any. They kept track of where the students were and how far behind them? There were few from my course who couldn't understand the formula of modules and ended up spending an extra year at the University. All in all, they were helpful but way too strict for many students' liking.

Placements are rather average because BBA is not that skilled, a course that can fetch placements so easily. For smaller roles, the companies and the organizations that needed students with the skillset that BBA students can handle came in and took more than half the students. So, placements were 50-50 because half students were happy while the other half had to be in a dire state. Even the farewell of ours got ruined because we couldn't get placed but never mind, the learning in modern style taught us many things that I wouldn't have been able to adapt, had I not been a part of MSRUAS.

MSR Nagar in Bangalore is full of PGs as nearly 40k students live here. The hostel facilities are not enough, and staying independently has its own advantages. There were two boy's hostels and a couple of boys' hostels were far from the campus. The University has arranged buses for those students but when you can have a PG close to the University, why get in the trap of curfew timings which were not strict for girls but for boys too. It was 7 and 8 pm for girls and boys.

It cost me nothing for transportation to come to the University. So, location-wise the University is great, and then coming to the facilities and resources, they were ample. Yes, they were lesser than MSRIT, but the University is growing and once it has the students that MSRIT has, MSRUAS will be more resourceful than MSRIT. The departmental buildings are great and talking about our department building, it had RO water machine on the ground floor and washrooms on each floor of the building. The statue of 'Dr. M S Ramaiah' was placed right in front of the main building. An open-air auditorium was also close to the main building. For track and field events there was a huge athletic track and for football and cricket lovers, the ground was good enough to play any of those sports.

If I leave out the assignment part because it took a lot of compiling information to gather to finish them. If I had that much extra time, I could have enjoyed the campus life more. Sporting events and cultural events were held every year. It was good to know Kannada culture as the program always started with some dance and skits of Kannada themes.
