Good things about MSRUAS, let me take those out for readers as there have been a lot of good things. Predominantly it was the education system more than anything else. The University showed us what they expect and what they are made of in the orientation program itself. Our direct competition was MSRIT as there was always a cold war going on between both the Universities. For fests and other competitions, we always had one thing in mind that we want to perform better than students of MSRIT. Even though the University was new, I think the University is ready if they can solve their placement woes. If they can get placements over 80% then I have no doubts in saying that the University is more than ready. They have all the other arsenal in their armory and this was the only area where they lacked. Coming from Haryana to Bangalore and going back without placements was not ideal as more than me, my family was more gutted for me.

Academics fire from the beginning and it's a top-heavy department of the University. It started like a bang and continued the same till the end of the semester. The revision period, which is a month before the mains, was extremely crucial, as we had to submit the form on which all modules are going to give in a particular mains exam which is held every six months. It looked a bit weird at the end, but then I came to know that this is how education prevails in foreign Universities. Our peers like Christ and St. Joseph, are still stuck in the old way of having a certain number of subjects in certain semesters and taking one or two backs and giving it the next semester. The education system here is quite different as management studies is not about studying but about developing skills.

Faculties played two roles. Along with teaching, they also mentored us in our assignments and our plans. They were passed out from some of the top Universities of India and abroad and understood the importance of doing an MBA because in BBA, we got to know about the case studies but deep assignments on those and PPT presentations are taught in MBA programs. Their motivation kept me going even after knowing that I couldn't have placements. So, if there's anything about the University that has made a lasting impact on us, then it is the faculty of the University.

A lot of students have already made a lot of plans, but I wasn't 100% convinced that we won't be placed. Almost three rounds of placements happened, but not more than half the students could have placements. Even after having the required credits to be eligible for placements, there was no reason given to us on why we couldn't have placements. Many of us were not even invited for any PI round as we kept warming the bench that might be we will be called. Well, now I look back, I see that it doesn't even matter, but having a career started at 21 rather than 23+ can have a different impact.

Hostels were ready, but the University hasn't planned well. The strength that poured in is higher than what they expected and off-campus hostels were arranged, but Peenya campus hostel was hardly sufficient. They finally had to take a call and make it the hostel for the engineering students. It was expanding and might be ready to accommodate 1500+ students by now as the strength of the University was no less than 15k then and now it must be 20% more for sure. However, in Bangalore one doesn't have to worry a bit because finding accommodation in Bangalore is like ordering your favorite dishes on Zomato or Swiggy.

Some strategic tricks were played by the University in building the campus. The hostels are at the far-end and after a certain point, students can't go to campus. I mean, the ones who are not a part of the hostel. One of the most beautiful gardens of the campus was close to the girl's hostel and boys couldn't go there. The libraries, auditoriums, and the open-air theater close to the main building were amazing. So, not full marks on infrastructure but something different for sure.

You will get something or the other at the campus to unwind. I found my mojo in having coffee at the café of the campus. Chilling with students who became friends for life was the best part of my campus life. All things said and done, the cultural events, management fests, and sports week were largely biased. I can understand this is a premium that students like us coming from other states had to pay at a University which was dominated by the local crowd.
