MNNIT Prayagraj Ranks Among the Best NITs in Northern India

I am pursuing ECE at MNNIT. The reason, which made me to join this institute, is one that this is best NITs in Northern India. Secondly, since last 3-4 years it has fabulous placements. It is also ranked first in North India in case of the placements. It also comes in top 6 from 31 NITs all over India. Since, this institute has completed more than 60 years of excellence, it has largest chain of alumni network all across the world. One thing is confirmed after taking admission here, your job is secured after 4 years.

I have joined this institute in August 2024 for pursuing B.Tech in ECE branch. ECE is an evergreen branch as you have options for both software as well as hardware. An eligibility criterion for general student is that he/she must have secured percentage of above 75 in class 12th examination. The branch and institute is allotted according to JEE Main rank in NIT System (including MNNIT). In every semester, we have two major exams as mid sem and end sem. We also we have internal quizzes and sem practicals in every semester.

Fee waiver is provided to students on basis of income, caste (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PWD). In addition, institute provides many scholarships to other students also.

Faculty is well educated and well experienced. Most of the professors (nearly 80 percent) have completed their PhDs and many of them have completed their education from NIT/IIT/foreign universities. Method of teaching varies from teacher to teacher. Some teachers use blackboard like Math and Physics professor, and many of them use PPTS. The teacher to student ratio is decent. One thing to notice is that in MNNIT, you will find every professor approachable all the time, which I liked the most.

Being established in 1961 that is around with 60 years ago, it needs time-to-time renovation. Campus size is about 200+acres. It is located in the city area, so you will have access to all basic facilities outside the campus. Some classrooms are new and well maintained but many of them need refurbishment. However, library is decent and large enough, you will find every book there, we have M hall (multipurpose hall) in name of auditorium that is based on old traditions. Seminar hall is nice but very small having seat capacity of nearly 150 students. Institute has two well-maintained restaurants named as Dews and Cafe 96, which were established by our alumni. Medical facilities are nice as the institute has separate hospital, and we have Apollo Pharmacy for medicines. Transport facility is also available for day scholars and for hostlers bus is available for first 1 month. Security is decent enough. One thing which I liked most of my institute is its lawn tennis court is well equipped and well maintained.

Talking about campus life, it is average. I will rate it 7 out of 10. However, if you have good friends in institute you will definitely not regret after 4 years because after 4 years you will have good decent job for which this institute is known and lot of new memories with your friends.
