Admission Process and Eligibility Criteria for MNNIT Allahabad

I have spent 6 months at MNNIT Allahabad till now, and my experience has been a mixed bag. On one hand. the Institute's strong reputation and ranking among top NITs in India have open doors for me. The quality of education in top notch, with a rigorous curriculum that pushes students to their limits. The Institute has a strong focus on research and innovation, with many faculty members and students working on cutting edge projects. It will provide opportunities to work on live projects and develop skills that are highly valued in the industry. However the academic schedule is extremely hectic with long hours of classes, labs and assignments, leaving little time for extracurricular activities, sports and personal interest. The other negatives include not that much good teaching while some professors are excellent, others seems disinterested and unprepared. Overall I'd say that MNNIT Allahabad is a great choice for students who are looking for a rigorous academic experience, strong research opportunities, and reputable degree. However students who want to explore in other fields also may find other Institutes.

I am currently pursuing my degree in Production and Engineering branch. Before taking admission here I was not aware that much by this branch. I just knew this is a sub branch of Mechanical Engineering. For taking admission in this Institute I took this course and now I am exploring the field and the opportunities it has to offer. The eligibility criteria for the same is just highly competitive. It includes: 75% marks in class 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and qualified JEE Main with a great score. The Admission Process involves: 1. Online registration and application submission 2. JOSSA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counseling for seat allocation. 3. Documents verification and admission confirmation. The academic calendar on MNNIT is semester based, with two semester per year. Exams are held at end of each semester, and along with that mid semester exams are also conducted in mid of each semester. MNNIT Allahabad's Production Engineering program provides hands on experience and theoretical knowledge that includes AutoCad, Workshop labs, etc.

The fee structure at MNNIT Allahabad varies depending on the category of the students. Here is the fee structure: Tuition fee: Rs. 62,500/semester, Hostel fee: Rs. 12,000/semester, Mess fee: Rs. 25,000/semester, Institute fee: Rs. 10,000/semester and Other fee: Rs.14,000/semester. MNNIT Allahabad offers fee concessions as per categories: 1. Family income between 1 Lakh to 5 Lakhs: 2/3 of tuition fee waiver 2. Family income less than 1 Lakh and SC/ST/PWD candidates: Full tuition fee waiver. MNNIT Allahabad and Governments offers various scholarship opportunities like: NSP and other state scholarships.

The faculties of MNNIT Allahabad are well qualified and experienced in their respective fields. Many of them has PhDs from top notch institutions like NITS and IITs and have published research papers in reputable journals. The teaching style varies from faculty to faculty, but most of them use a combination of lectures, tutorials by writing on blackboard while some go for ppts to teach. Faculty members are generally available for guidance and support outside of regular class hours. But there are some faculty members who should improve their teaching style and communication skills. Overall, the faculties of MNNIT Allahabad are well qualified, experienced and supportive. There are many regions too for improvement. Some good faculty generally provides high quality learning and experience and many valuable skills to students.

MNNIT Allahabad has a strong placement record, with many top companies visiting the campus. The Institute provides excellent placement opportunities with some students even getting placed in top companies like Zomato, Hercules, Uber, etc. In our Institute there is an active Placement cell which helps students for trying great placement opportunities. Along with it, the seniors and alumni are also very helpful and supportive. There are many top recruiters that visit the campus. Some of the top recruiters are: FANG, Rubix, Goldman Sacks, Hercules, Uber, Zomato, Swiggy and many more. Here placement depends from branch to branch. For Computer Science and Engineering almost 100% placement records are there, with average package ranging from 20-26 lakhs. This is Highest package offered is: 72 lakhs in this branch. Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) has an average package of 22-24 Lakhs. Other branches also have good placement records. Overall, MNNIT Allahabad has a strong placement record, with many top companies offering good salary packages.

MNNIT Allahabad provides students Hostels for residential facilities with charge of Rs 12,000 per semester and Mess fee of 25,000 per semester. The rooms provided here vary from hostel to hostel. The hostels that are provided to 1st year are new and the best among them for both boys and girls. Rooms are spacious there and basic amenities like beds, chairs study table and cupboards are available. The rooms are shared by 3 or 4 students. For boys in 2nd year they have to share a room with 2 and afterwards they get single rooms but in girls hostel, they have to share their room with their partner till all Institute. The Rooms for seniors are not spacious and students face problems for adjustment. There these hostels are old and need to renovate. The new hostels (For first year) are better maintained. But there are sometimes issues with network connectivity with Wi-Fi. For safety each hostel has 2-3 security guards but there are some restrictions too. Girls have to report in Hostel at 10:00 PM.

The campus of MNNIT Allahabad spans 222 acres of land, providing ample space for academic building, hostels, sports facilities and others. The campus has both old and new buildings. Some of the departments are having modern infrastructure. Well maintained paths and roads connect whole campus. The classrooms here are spacious, some are old but some are having modern technologies like projectors, ACs, etc. In old classrooms you can find difficulty in summers as only fans are available there and Allahabad city suffers from extreme heat during summers. The labs and workshops are also well maintained and well equipped with equipments. Library also has plenty of books but library is somewhere too small for all the students. In sports, multiple sports fields are there for cricket, football, basketball and volleyball. Gym is also present here each for both boys and girls. Mess food is average here as there is nowhere where we can get food like our homes. For Medical facilities each day a doctor is present there and a pharmacy is also there. Other facilities like: Three canteens are available there for students. Other than this ATM and banking facilities are also present in campus. Stationary and convenience stores are also available for students.

The Institute life in this Institute is average not like as in Institutes of Delhi but it is okay. There are many events that are organized in Institute like cultural event: ‘Culrav’, Institute hosts cultural events like music, dance and drama performances. Another is technical event: ‘Avishkar’, that includes hackathons, coding competitions, robotic events and many more. Other sports events are also organized there. This Institute has too many clubs and society that helps a student to grow and focus on interest like: dance, music, acting, singing, art and literature. My experience about campus life in this Institute is good as major part of Institute life is made by you and your friends. Institute is secondary so make good friends and bonding and explore your interests.
