Choose GLA University Mathura for B.Tech in Biotechnology

I have completed almost 2 years at GLA University and I really feel good here. Faculty members, management staff, and even research scholars are helpful and help students as much they can. I have chosen this university because of its very well maintained infrastructure and laboratories, which helps students to excel in their particular field. Being a Biotechnology student, practical experience is must and I get all those experiences here.

I have chosen B.Tech. in Biotechnology and I've chosen it to learn about the techniques used in Vaccine Development, Genetics and Molecular Biology, along with Food Technology and Gene Cloning which is typically used in today's world to fight against epidemic pandemic and daily problem faced by us in this world. There is just an online exam, which you have to qualify in order to join this university. There are 2 exams per semester: midterm and end term, which are in the gap of 60-75 days. Academic syllabus is designed as per latest study policies to let students excel in their field with best knowledge one can get.

Fee for B.Tech in Biotechnology is around Rs. 1,80,000 per annum, which depends on you how you pay, if you pay at once, you get Rs. 3,000 off. Rs.10,000 rupees is one time security payment. The fee includes Rs. 6,000 exam fees. If a student had scored 80% or more in class 12th he/she, you can get scholarship from university itself that can be maintained if you are capable of maintaining 8 CPI or more per semester.

Faculty members are very good and help students with their best. Each faculty is either PhD or Doctorate degree holder, which gives a good point for this university. Faculties are very well trained. Faculty and students ratio is quite good. I have good experience with the faculty members. You can approach them anytime they will be there for you.

Placement is best at the university. It provides an annual package of 6.3 LPA and highest package of 55 LPA. Companies like TCS, Microsoft, Capgemini, Health watch technology, Cryoviva, Intas, etc. comes to campus for the placement. Placement department teaches students how to well behave and prepare for GD rounds, personal interview, and aptitude test. Overall, placement is very good at this university. It is a plus point for you to join this university.

Yes, university provides residential facilities like hostels, which costs around Rs. 1,10,000 for an individual, which includes hostel and mess fees. Each hostel comprises of common room sports room gymnasium. There are 2 to 3 floors and each floor has 60 rooms with 3 student’s capacity per room. Boy and girl’s hostels are separate. Mess food is good and proper hygiene is maintained to prevent any kind of infection. Rules of hostel are quite strict as for girls, outing timings in summer are until 7:15 PM while in winters it is 6:45 PM. I have resided in hostel for 1 year and I have a good experience.

Infrastructure at GLA University is best. It comprises of total 4 to 5 canteens and a complex, which includes all facilities. Academic blocks are very well maintained with good classroom capacity. Each block comprises of 4 floors and each floor has 20 rooms. Each classroom has a capacity of 70 to 80 students. Each block has its separate library with a Main Central Library, which includes all books from all departments. Each block also has its own conference hall and an auditorium at the centre. There are labs as per the departmental block. We have 4 to 5 playgrounds. University also has its own dispensary, which have doctors available 24/7. With a good security, the University is safe as 24/7 security guards are available on university gates and premises.

Overall experience is very good in past 2 years. I have experienced all the good things which one should learn in his/her campus life. Ragging is strictly prohibited and in a case someone rags a student strict action are taken against him/her. It organizes tech fest, cultural events, and other events on annually basis. There are many clubs like Vihiti, Pratibha, Drishti, Ninad, Natraj, Abacus Society, Biotech Club, and other departmental clubs, which organizes events on monthly basis to help students get fresh after studies. University organizes tech-fest, cultural event and other events annually. Yes, I am a part of Biotech club.
