IIT KGP Chemical Engineering: Admission Process, Fee Structure, & Many More

Overall Rating
IIT Kharagpur is a very good institute for engineering. It is among top 5 engineering institutes in India. The institute is also known for having largest campus in India (that is 2100 acres). Night life here is crazy, you will easy find lot of people roaming around in campus anytime at night. The faculty is also supporting and hostel life is the best thing, you will experience in your life. There are all types of facilities provided including health care and sports.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen Chemical Engineering dual degree course that is very good course. Eligibility criteria is passing JEE Advanced. Admission process will be done by JoSAA counseling. The frequency of exams are 1 mid semester and 1 end semester exam.
The fee per semester is around 1.4 Lakh. 1 Lakh is for academic fee and Rs. 40,000 is for hostel fee and mess fee. ST and SC category do not have to pay academic fee. Remission is also given based on family income.
 

Faculty Rating
All the faculty members of my institute are very well educated and have PhD degree from foreign universities and IITs. Most of the professors use PPTs and some teach on board. The problem solving abilities of the faculty are good. It would be perfect if few of them improve their behavior.
 

Placement Rating
The placement cell of IIT Kharagpur is called Career Development Centre that is CDC.
 

Hostel Rating
There are total 23 hostels in IIT KGP . There are 18 hostels for boys and 5 hostels for girls. There are not any specific in & out timings for hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is very good. We have different buildings for every department. There is a JC Bose lab complex, 2 cricket grounds, 2 football grounds, one stadium for athletics, one Olympic size swimming pool. There is also a hospital in our campus that is BC Roy Technology hospital.
 

Campus Rating
I think my I am having the best experience of my life here. We used to hang out together during every weekend in our very big campus. There are more than 20 clubs in my institute. I am part of one of them.

    Overall Rating
    IIT Kharagpur is one of the most renowned academic institutes in India. It has NIRF ranking of 5th in engineering category. It is one among the oldest IITs in India which makes it strong alumni network. The lush greenery campus with fresh air, away from city makes students life excellent.     Being from a middle class family I have dreamt about getting into this Institute from Class 11. I didn't get much exposure to Engineering before, so I was very much excited. It is one of the largest campuses having a jungle spread on half of its area. One will not get bored as there many things to do. On every weekend, there are some programs going on at Gymkhana.     I am very happy to have got into IIT KGP. It has got the largest campus among all the IITs; spread around 2200 acres of land. It is one of the top 10 IITs. The course I have chosen here is Industrial and Systems Engineering and it is offered by this Institute alone.... Read Full Review

    The overall experience e here is very good, as we live like a family here and the locals of the residential area inside the campus are very kind and polite. The Academics, Societies, Sports Facilities, extra-curricular everything is excellent here except few things for which you might have to compromise.     If I summarize my experience at IIT-KGP, it would be all about great memories. It is one of the oldest Institute of Technology in India and a very prestigious Institute.
