Overall Rating
I was always the topper of my class, but JEE preparation humbled me. But, I dreamt of something and had to achieve that at any cost. I still remember the day when I knew I'll be studying in one of the best Institutions of the country, I was on cloud nine and super excited. So, for me, coming here was a like a life changing phenomenon. After entering Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, you'll get multiple opportunities to explore new things that you have never done or left because of exam preparation.

Academics Rating
Well, choosing IIT Kharagpur was a fairly easy decision as is seen by NIRF rankings. Moreover, while preparing for my exam, I always visualized myself standing in front of the main building with my friends. On top of that, I got Mechanical Engineering which is the biggest and one of the well-established departments here, so I knew I'll be given ample opportunities to excel. Admission process is simple; you'll have to prepare for JEE Main, qualify that and then write JEE Advanced and get a general rank under 5000 to get in this Institute.
Well, the semester fee is around Rs. 1,40,000/- including the hostel fees. You get special concessions depending on your family's income.

Faculty Rating
Every Professor is highly qualified and is best in their field. They have their own research areas and work; on top of that, they teach us. General method of teaching is mainly PPTs or blackboard. Well, the approachability of the Professors is debatable, it depends on them. One thing you can't doubt about the faculty is their capability.

Placement Rating
The Placement Cell of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur is the best with one of the best placement statistics in the country. So, after coming here, you don't have to worry about placement if you are a decent student.

Hostel Rating
There are total 21 hostels or 'Halls of Residences', separate for boys' & girls'. The hostel life is super cool here, the rooms might be older but the memories that you make are special. Hygiene is maintained in the mess, the taste can be subjective. On few days, it might taste good and other days, you'll find yourself eating in one of the night canteens. Basic amenities like Wi-Fi, washing machines, clean water, geysers are available.

Infrastructure Rating
IIT Kharagpur is the biggest Institute with an area of 2100 acres. You'll need a cycle to travel inside the campus. You can find everything inside the campus ranging from restaurants to salons, market and cafes'. It has one of the biggest libraries of the country having every academic journal and book. The labs are World class, with best equipment. Every hostel has its own gym, so being fit inside the campus would not be a tough job.

Campus Rating
Overall, the campus life of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur is full of sports and cultural activities going on throughout the year. You can find a club related to anything. Be it dancing, or dramatics, culinary or robotics. 3 annual fests are celebrated here mainly in January. So being bored here is nearly impossible. At the end, I would say that all of those sleepless nights and sacrifices are worth it once you come here.

IIT Kharagpur is one of the most renowned academic institutes in India. It has NIRF ranking of 5th in engineering category. It is one among the oldest IITs in India which makes it strong alumni network. The lush greenery campus with fresh air, away from city makes students life excellent.
