JIMS Engineering: B.Tech in Computer Science Admission

Overall my college experience is going good due to various reasons. Like the location of college is very close to my home. The nature of college faculty is also very good and caring one. In every building floor around 1-2 Wi-Fi routers are installed which makes it easier for students to use it when we need it. The quality of the food provided in canteen is also very good, fresh, and affordable. Various cultural and annual fest and events are conducted etc.

I am currently pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science. Right now my 2nd semester is going on. Mode of admission is through two ways, one is through national level exams like through JEE Main and then on the basis of the rank secured student is allotted the respective section and the second one is through the management quota. In one semester 3 exams are conducted the first two are the midterm exams while the last one is the end term exam. They are relatively easy to moderate level if you have revised lecture notes and have done last year PYQs as most of the questions come directly or just a little bit of change in the values is there. Also the academics really prepare us for solving the real life challenges in industries.

The fee of this course is Rs. 1,48,500 per year including both semesters. There is an additional charge for convenience.

The college faculty is good, kind, caring, friendly, and helpful in nature. If students are facing any issues or problems in academics or in personal life the teacher helps him or her. The professors promote students to take part in other co-curricular activities along with studies like in cultural and annual fests, debate competition, placement cells, hackathons, etc. Most of the professors use combination of both blackboards and PPTs in teaching. The faculty members have more than 5 years of teaching experience.

I have heard from most of my seniors that to become eligible in the placement cell, the student should have at least 75% of attendance and also he/she should have more than 9 CGPA. Mostly the placement companies come either in the mid of 3rd year or in the 4th year. Many renowned companies come in the college like Google, Microsoft, Deloitte, Accenture, NIIT, JP Morgan, etc. The highest package was offered by Mindtickle Interactive Media Pvt. Ltd. for the Software Development Engineer and it was around 46 LPA.

There are separate buildings for boys and girls. There are 4 floors in total and around 2 to 3 students at maximum can be allocated in one room. Rooms are air conditioned. TVs are installed in the hostel hall in both the buildings. The quality of mess food is very good and sports equipment for cricket, badminton, tennis, basketball, etc. are also provided.

The size of the campus is around 5 to 5.5 acres. There are separate buildings for each department like for B.Tech, B.Ed, BBA, law, etc. The size of the canteen is very big and the facility provided by them is very good. There is a library filled with books from various famous renowned writers so that if students face any problem in academics they can easily avail the book. In one classroom a maximum of 64 students can be accommodated. Also, there is one big air conditioned auditorium hall where various cultural events are conducted and there is one seminar hall which is mostly used for guest lecturers or any workshops. There is one college bus for students who have opted for it but I think it need to increase by at least 2 or 3 in numbers. The classrooms are installed both with blackboard and whiteboard along with projector and 2 ACs too. There is one big basketball court and there is badminton net too in the college.

Overall my campus life is going very good till now although there were some upside downs but it doesn't affect much. The college crowd is absolutely tremendous especially during the tea break and during lunch break. There are various clubs like Navras, Swaroop, Dazzle, etc. In future I might take part in the tech related clubs or tech related internships like Devtown, MSME, Smarted – AICTE, etc. Various events are conducted by the college every year. In college some famous singers have came under celebrity night too.
