About PEC Chandigarh: All the Aspects

Overall Rating
The college overall is great. The infrastructure is okay but the environment is good and there is literally zero ragging. The senior junior interaction here is very good and professors are very dedicated towards their work. The college gives a very happy kind of a vibe. The hostels are not that great but it is not about place it is about people; friends here are very helpful and chill. The college is very active in conducting events and seminars, which is a good point about the college. The only thing that I think can be improved, is the infrastructure.
 

Academics Rating
The admission in this college is through JOSSA or CSAB. The cut-off are generally high for the college, I have seen people who left IITs to join this college. The cut-off for CSE here was closed at 12,000 ranks in CSAB for general category. Therefore, from this you can see how difficult it is to get top branches here. The courses here are somewhat outdated but the professors are good.
The fees of the college are Rs. 91,000. The tuition fees and the hostel fees are Rs. 81,000 and the mess fee is Rs. 3,500 per month. There are scholarships for BPL and SC/ST students but no scholarship for EWS students.
 

Faculty Rating
The teacher to student ratio here is very good. The labs are a bit outdated. The method of teaching depends on the teacher, mostly they read the PPT but some professors are very passionate and they give their best in teaching us. The bonding of student and teacher here is good they are not egoistic at all. The teachers are well qualified and have enough knowledge.
 

Placement Rating
The placement is very good here but in recent years, the placement rates have got down due to recession but they are improving again.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are a matter of concern; the new hostels that are still in development seem to be good but the older ones were not very well maintained.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus size is 200 acres. It is a small campus but in my eyes, it is good enough, as they have utilized it well. The campus is lush green and we have big grounds that are very well maintained. The auditorium can be made a little bigger as it is a little small. The canteen here is very good we can get anything we want here. There is a market called PEC market where you can get anything you want. the college is in the middle of city, which is really good
 

Campus Rating
The crowd in college is very good and helpful. Here people are not arrogant; they are always helpful and kind. The clubs here are very active and engaging, there is an annual event called ‘PECFEST’ that is a 3-day event happening once a year, at a very large scale. Many singers have come here to perform. The overall experience of mine is great and I am happy that I chose this college over others.

    Punjab Engineering College is a well known and very reputed college. College provides very good placement opportunities and internship opportunities. But, the campus itself does not have modern infrastructure and classes are not air conditioned.   • Career Prospects and Placements at Punjab Engineering College

    It has been a good experience till now in Punjab Engineering College. I am currently pursuing my UG from Computer Science Engineering from here. I joined this college due its high placements and internship opportunities. It’s a government funded technical institution. The institute is around 100 years old.     The college has a great location and past. It is located in Chandigarh which provides a beautiful surrounding and atmosphere. Being a JEE student, You would always like to have a good college to complete your B.Tech degree. PEC, Chandigarh is considered better than even many NIT's and IIT's which made me choose this college.
