PUNJAB ENGINEERING COLLEGE REVIEW

Overall Rating
Punjab Engineering College is a well known and very reputed college. College provides very good placement opportunities and internship opportunities. But, the campus itself does not have modern infrastructure and classes are not air conditioned. The college is situated in the city, Chandigarh so it provides quite good exposure to students from all over India. Location of the campus is very good in sector 12 Chandigarh.
 

Academics Rating
To get admission in B. Tech students must clear JEE Mains with a good score, i.e. about 97-99 percentile for general students and 85-95 percentile for SC/ST and EWS categories. A student must have scored at least 75% marks in class 12th in PCM. There are many courses in academics like personality development, EVS, Communication Skills, Human Values, etc.
 

Faculty Rating
All the faculty of the college is very well educated and friendly towards the students. In first year PhD department faculty teaches the students and from second year onwards senior professors teach the students. Maximum teachers explain the topics very well.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is a placement cell in the campus. It helps all the students to acquire good placements. There are many companies which come to the campus and hire students. Most of the students get placed in their 3rd year of the course.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel infrastructure is not modern. It does not provide washing services. Mess food is good and tasty. The rooms at the hostel are not air conditioned.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is old. There are very few classrooms with air conditioners and no lifts in the college. There are 4-5 shops in the campus just for the necessities. There is a compact auditorium around 100-150 students can sit together at a time.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is a bit enjoyable almost every week at least one activity occurs and there are many active clubs to participate in co-curriculum activities. There are also some trips occurring almost in every two or three months. College provides a good exposure as there are students from all over the country and some from abroad too.

  • Career Prospects and Placements at Punjab Engineering College

    It has been a good experience till now in Punjab Engineering College. I am currently pursuing my UG from Computer Science Engineering from here. I joined this college due its high placements and internship opportunities. It’s a government funded technical institution. The institute is around 100 years old.     The college has a great location and past. It is located in Chandigarh which provides a beautiful surrounding and atmosphere. Being a JEE student, You would always like to have a good college to complete your B.Tech degree. PEC, Chandigarh is considered better than even many NIT's and IIT's which made me choose this college.     The college overall is great. The infrastructure is okay but the environment is good and there is literally zero ragging. The senior junior interaction here is very good and professors are very dedicated towards their work. The college gives a very happy kind of a vibe. The hostels are not that great but it is not about place it is about people; friends here are very helpful and chill.
