Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam is too good in terms of academics. Life inside the campus is also good. It's worthy to join here by paying high amount of fee if one gets admission through JOSAA or CSAB.

In terms of academics, IIIT Kottayam is highly under rated. In the first semester we don't have non-core subjects like physics and chemistry like other colleges, instead we have web development in which we are taught HTML, CSS and JS. In first semester they teach us c++ as programming language simultaneously along with web development. In second semester we have backend language - JAVA along with data structures in c++. By the end of second year, student will be a full stack developer (DBMS, computer networks also). From second year second semester we will have deep subjects like AI, ML etc.

Our college is famous for having high number of faculty. Faculty student ratio here is too good; it is about 1:30. All the faculty are PhD holders from prominent universities such as top NIT's and IIT's. Apart from faculty we also have the support of PhD scholars from our college to help us academic related things. They come to our classes along with the main faculty.

We have a well dedicated team for placements. Highest package for 2023 passed out batch is Rs. 58 LPA and average package stands out at Rs. 13.90 LPA. From 2019 since ever the first batch is placed, growth in placements is extra ordinary.

Our college provides hostel facility for both boys and girls. We have three boys’ hostels and one girl’s hostel inside the campus. Additionally to this college has two other hostels in the nearby town. We have completely student driven mess, in which everything is decided by the students, both north Indian and south Indian foods are available every day. We will have fixed two types of bread with butter and jam along with 2-3 types of tiffin items along with chutneys. Every day for lunch and dinner we have normal rice, Kerala rice, roti/chapati, curd along 3-4 types of curries.

As our college is newly established, we don't have outstanding infrastructure, but comparing to other IIIT's or newly established universities, our growth is enormous. We have two academic blocks with multiple conference halls, computer labs and electrical labs. Our college has a canteen, medical shop, and an ATM inside campus.

Coming to campus life it is not too good as we don't have a very big campus. Sports facilities are very limited, college don't have a sufficient ground. Weird thing is that both cricket and football are played in the same ground. Annually we have 4 fests. Annual fest is DHRUVA and fresher fest is called as ADAVYA. College has many technical and cultural clubs. Our college has a great coding culture maintained by coding club.
