Vellore Institute of Technology B.Des Review By Prakash Aryan

I joined VIT, Vellore in the month of September last year i.e. 2022; I had a great experience till now. It is about to be one year for me being here in VIT. The environment here, faculties, workers, and students everyone is very much serious about their work and do know their responsibility very well and work very hard to fulfill it. I did apply for many institutions in India but when I looked at the brochure of this particular institute I was amazed and it was then decided that I would like to join this college. It is one the highest ranked institutes in India, as well as has a good record of campus placements.

In our course it is more about being practical and technical than being a bookworm. Our faculties are all well experienced as they have also worked officially. All the necessary equipment such as cameras, PC setups, etc. everything is provided by our school of B. Des. Our seniors always give us a very good feedback about the faculties as well as about the things they did learn and which helped them secure a well paid job or internship.

Faculties are all experts in their field as they have worked with various companies including foreign countries. They have a very high knowledge about what they are teaching. Most importantly they are friendly and very helpful towards the students. They never disappoint their students whenever they have a doubt.

Placement was one of the major reasons that led me to join this institute as it has a very good record of having placement and it is getting better as years pass by, more foreign companies are coming.

Hotels here are very good. They are not very costly as compared to the expenses for someone who is staying outside in PG. There are about 16 boys’ hostel and 12 girls’ hostel including AC and non-AC blocks. Mess and laundry services are also provided for which we don’t have to pay separately as it is already included with the hostel fees.

There are more than 10 academic blocks here in VIT and all are very well maintained and give out a very studios vibe to students. They are eco friendly and all the blocks are surrounded with nature. Out of all blocks the most unique block is the Mahatma Gandhi block which is for B. Des, V-Sign, BBA, M. Des, and Viscom students. This building is most unique as it is the only building which has open classrooms and it is never hot inside as it is created in such a way. This block gives out a pleasant vibe to study in.

Overall life here in campus for all students is amazing. The first thing to be mentioned is that we have three exams each semester with assignments and projects, which is kind of hectic for students but this is what we are here for; to study and to get a better future. Leaving apart all the academics, VIT also focuses very much on co-curricular activities, as well as there are about more than 150 clubs in VIT, of which there is daily one or the other club hosting some event, and there are several cafeterias in VIT, hangout spots to chill and vibe with friends. Overall in this one year I had a great experience here though a little hectic but it is worth it.
