BMS College of Engineering B.Tech Review By Ravindra Dubey

BMSCE is located at Basavanagudi, Bengaluru. The college has endless potential and the way the college has treated the students has made this college even better. BMS College of Engineering Admission I secured with my performance at COMED-K. The college has as many as 13 courses for undergraduate programs highest in terms of engineering streams that they have. The college is an autonomous college and the B.E. course that they offer has their own set of books, and teaching style. No doubt that the college will give you goosebumps more often than not as prominent personalities attend our college regularly and the way college is governed is outstanding.

The college evaluates, analyzes and then makes students understand the topic. The process to get admission in the college is tough as the number of students applying and the number of seats available makes it really competent. The good classrooms and good teachers are enough for students to give them a feasible environment where they can study easily. The students have been demanding and BMSCE has taken care of all such demands even before the students raise that issue. The high quality labs are the reason why I loved the practical sessions that lasted for hours. There are different labs for different streams and this is where college should be credited. The college timings were just too much in a way those 8 hours on and average every day we have to be in the classes. The best part was that if one pays attention in the class then I don’t think one has to put hard yards to pass in the exams. Academics have made BMSCE ranked in the top 10 engineering colleges in India.

Top-notch, first-class, marvelous, brilliant, and many more of such adjectives won’t be enough for the kind of faculty that we had at BMSCE. The superlative teaching method and running after students made faculty the best. Faculty didn’t care less as they believed in quality from each student and constant lesser scoring was strictly noted and were called upon personally by the dean. The college management was harsh with the faculty if any complaint was filed against them.

There were 180 students in our stream and if we leave aside the few who didn’t had the required credits all got placed in top most companies. International companies like Inflatable Orange Factory, Cognizant, and Dell International services are among the top recruiters. This is the reason why BMSCE students are working in abroad. After working for 2 years for Dell in Bangalore, I was sent to the US and likewise many of my batch mates as well. The annual package is in range of Rs. 5-6 lakhs but for M.Tech, it’s the double of this. Getting admission here is tough but once you have entered this college and pass your engineering successfully, you will achieve greater heights in life that is for sure.

There are 8 hostel wings in all and all are segregated on the basis of gender and year. The best part about the hostel is that you will have your classmates sharing the rooms rather than unknown coming and staying with you. This made life easy post college hours. Also, if you are not happy with your roommates an application is all that was required to change the room. The hostel had its own mess and the food was good. After college hours the hostel was the place that looked like heaven as the beds that were provided and along with that a study table and a cupboard was also provided. The life at hostel was fun as we kept wandering from one room to another and used to have a lot of fun.

The college is huge and is green. There are nearly 20 huge trees in the campus that are looked after by the management. The college buildings are well maintained and clean. There are washrooms on each floor and also hot and cold drinking water. The college has a total of 5 buildings excluding the hostel buildings. The campus has all the sporting facilities along with an auditorium. There is also an amphitheater in the college along with 2 canteens. One is a mini canteen that serves tea, coffee, snacks, and cola while the one in main campus serves hot meals and has a lot of variety as well.

The life at campus was great. Interacting with some of the sharpest brains was imminent at the college campus. I am a North Indian and was never made felt as an outsider and this is the best part about the college as students from all across India come and study there. The college has some positive vibes and the seniors were equally helpful. Not just helped us in studies but were always up for help in any case whatsoever. The management told us in the first lecture itself that if somebody rags you a strict action will be taken and therefore nothing of that sort was ever seen in college campus.
