Christ (Deemed to be University) is a well-known university across India; it is situated in Bangalore, Karnataka. It was established in 1969 as (Deemed to be university). It provides different number of courses in Humanities, Engineering, Law and also Hotel Management both with Graduation and Post- Graduation. The reason for me to choose this university was its wide range of courses / streams and the exposure it provides to its diverse range of students (both national and inter-national). The university not only focuses on offering quality academic environment, but it also provides other facilities like sports, NCC, and different activities in the campus. The Christ University also has a Scholarship Cell which helps and provides scholarship for eligible students; they have to maintain good academics and participate in co-curricular activities inside the campus. The motto of the university is Excellence in service, which is what exactly it aims to offer for its students.

As mentioned earlier, the university has a wide range of courses to offer with the most unique combination like Honours in EPH (English, Political Science, and History), EPM (Economics, Psychology, and Music), etc. A basic BA course also has variety of triple major courses to choose from and gives more diverse range of streams for the students to choose for their higher education. Other than BA, the campus also provides different course for both Graduation and Post-Graduation. Christ is 3rd most popular Semi-Private university for BBA, MBA, and Journalism. The eligibility criteria for the admission include completing your 10+2 with minimum of 50% marks. If selected it follows up with a Writing Test and a Personal Interview process with the course’s HOD and faculty.

The faculty of Christ (Deemed to be University) is very friendly and polite. They have years of experience and Ph.D Degrees in their respective fields. The teaching methods of each faculty differ but they provide both verbal and practical knowledge of their respective subject. The assignments are also given in a unique way where the students have to prepare presentation, written assessment, and sometimes a whole drama on the assigned topic. Plagiarism is taken very seriously by the institution.

Christ (Deemed to be University) has 3 campuses around Bangalore, from which the oldest one is situated in the heart of Bangalore. The Hosur road campus is the main campus and has an area of around 25 acres with the facility of parking and various grounds for sports and other activities. The campus has five blocks. It also has garden in which there is an inbuilt Birds Park where students can see different kinds of birds. The college also provides canteens and a huge Library which covers 2 central blocks of the university. The other two campuses are also located in Bangalore; the second campus is located in Bannerghatta road which offers social science and business courses. The third campus is situated in Kengeri that has a lush green land of approximately 78 acres and it is mainly offers Engineering courses.

The campus life of Christ (Deemed to be University) is mix of rules and fun. There certain rules that are followed in the campus. Here dress code is the most important factor which is Formal for boys and traditional attire for girls. The campus also follows 85% compulsory attendance policy for students. The campus also organises variety of fests in the campus like AARAMBH, KHWABEDA, etc. The campus is also very keen in celebrating Ethnic day, where the students have to dress up in their traditional attire, week like color week is celebrated. Overall, the campus life is great as it provides opportunities to interact with national and international students. The campus also provides church chore services and the decoration on Christmas is remarkable. Secret Santa is celebrated before the Christmas holidays. Postcards and other gifts are also given to students from other streams. Campus also has lush greenery inside the premises, which provide a peaceful environment for the students. The faculty and helping staff of the campus are polite and helpful.
