My overall experience with this institute is quite good. Thapar University is prestigious institute that was established in 1956. It has a strong alumini network. Admission process is through JEE mains and boards percentage. There is no interview before admission. As it is a private college it has a high fee. Cutoff for CS branch is 96 percentile and 97 percentages in boards for general outside Punjab. It has overall good placements.

Computer engineering is a famous course that is in very demand. There are 2 exams that happen per semester. Course curriculum is however very relevant according to computer engineering. It also involves practical knowledge. There is a scholarship on the basis of JEE mains percentile and boards percentage. There is no entry level requirement but if you have learnt any other computer language it will be good. Eligibility is based on cut off (JEE mains and boards percentage) that is provided by the college.

Faculty is quite cooperative and helpful. The entire faculty is highly qualified up to PhD. They have well paying job in college. Houses for faculty are provided by institute for living. My course teacher (computer engineering) has good knowledge in computer programming. Their style of teaching is very nice and all of us can understand. They are ready for help anytime.

Yes there is a placement cell in college. It provides all details related to placements of college such as average package, median package etc. placements are overall Great in college. Last year highest package was 63 lpa and average package was 13 lpa. Student needs to learn programming languages such as Java CPP and develop projects using web development and app development. College provides internship opportunities in famous companies such as Amazon, Flipkart etc.

There are well maintained hostels and food quality is good. There is an easy availability of hostels in every year and they are quite affordable for all. There are sports available in hostel such as table tennis; chess etc. there is separate mess for each hostel. Warden is there for cooperation and security is tight. Water coolers are there at every floor and washrooms are clean. Cultural activities are organised on regular basis.

Infrastructure is great with all facilities available. Library of college is very large and every type of book is available there. All sports facilities are available and each sport has separate grounds. Academic block is fully air conditioned and has 8 floors.

Campus life is great here. There is a fest saturnalia which is a techno cultural fest that is organised very well by the college. They are many clubs in societies such as EDC, GDSC and many more. Events are organised almost in every month. Different motivational speakers are regularly invited for students. Crowd is good in terms of enjoyment. Sports fest Urja is organised every year.
