My life at NITK

Overall Rating
National Institute of Technology Karnataka is an elite engineering Institute in the country. The campus is located around National Highway 66. The campus has lush green trees. The beach is pleasant to view from the campus, and there are a lot of places to visit nearby the campus. Mangalore is nearby it is a must visit place in the state.
 

Academics Rating
The bachelor's degree in the institute is 4 years long. There are a lot of departments in the institute, and the department also offers minor degrees, the evaluation is done in terms of CGPA out of a score of 10. The only entry for students is through the JEE MAINS entrance exam. 95 percentile is the minimum score required to get into the Institute (however you won't be satisfied with the branch).
 

Faculty Rating
All the professors in my department (Electrical and electronics department ) are chill in nature. You get around 2 assignments for each course which accounts for 10 to 20 % of the total weightage for course evaluation. There are 2 quizzes (10 - 20%), midsem (20-25%), lab evaluation for some courses that weigh around for (10 - 15%), and endsem for 40%.
 

Placement Rating
The placement in the campus is pretty well, to be specific around 95% of students get placed in their 4th year. Around 10 % of students go for higher studies. The results may vary from department to department.
 

Hostel Rating
You can opt for day scholar if you live near Mangalore.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus was constructed around 1960. There are a lot of old buildings that don’t look good but the interiors are well maintained. Water and electric supply are sophisticated. Hostels have good ventilation and washrooms.
 

Campus Rating
There are a lot of clubs in the campus that range from literature, technical, sports, dance, and other stuff. There are a lot of fests that go year around but the two most important fests are the INCIDENT held in the even semester and ENGINEER event in the odd semester. These two events are marvelous.

    I am studying at Nation Institute of Technology, Surathkal, Karnataka. As I am here for 2 months, I am experiencing a very good culture, nature, and infrastructure here. Students come here from all over the India as this college is one of top 5 NITs. I chose this particular college because of its environment and all other things like faculties and all.     The campus of institute is huge, approx. 300 acres and full of greenery. The ranking of this institute is 2nd among NITs and 10th in engineering institute and it has beach so you can enjoy during weekends. The weather of Surathkal is very sunny.     Being a 2nd year student, I feel I am qualified to give a review of NITK College. Being here for 2 year I can say that no one should judges any college by checking its online reviews as each student have its own difficulty in college.     Overall Rating
    I got to this institute through JEE mains exam for engineering purpose. I think this is the best institute in Karnataka. Its NIRF ranking is also somewhere around 12. The people who write JEE exam know the importance of this institute. The college is wonderful nice infrastructure and this is the only NIT with their own private beach. Also college conducts many fests and all which keeps you busy in enjoying.... Read Full Review
