I chose the Civil Engineering branch because of the alumni and faculties. Filled with highly qualified faculties and good infrastructure the Civil Engineering department is one of the elites out in the nation. The labs are high-functioning and full of varieties. NIT Agartala also provides a Master's in Civil Engineering and Ph.D in its respects. Apart from Civil Engineering, there are top branches in the institute with similar descriptions. With a huge campus of 365 Acres and surrounded by nature. The place is a haven for students in between peace and serenity. Central Library is top notch and hostels are big and spacious.

Well for Civil Engineering B.Tech. I scored around 2000 ST category rank in JEE Mains and got the seat in the 1st Round of JOSAA Counselling. I chose the course because of its highly qualified faculties and high-tech labs. The Civil Engineering building is also one of the biggest and provides good spacious classes for students. The Ph.D scholars are really helpful, friendly, and lucky for us. They teach us many things apart from the faculties. My aim is to do lots of internships within the first 3 years and sit for placements in PSUs.

The Civil Engineering Department has the most qualified faculties along with other departments like CSE and Electrical. The department is highly active in the research area. Many ongoing projects are proof of the hardworking faculties and students. Many government-funded projects are taking place at the moment. The faculties are all highly qualified and all of them have at least Ph.D completed. The course structure is a bit challenging. I believe it's to teach us proper time management and coordination with fellow mates. Filled with a lot of assignments and fieldwork, the course is fun and very challenging.

The placement cell is really active and has been working constantly for the students. Civil Department students are mostly going for PSUs and development jobs in the public sector. I have the same goal.

There are 2 main hostels for Boys namely Aryabhatta and RNT hostel. Aryabhatta Hostel takes 2nd-year and 4th-year students while RNT Hostel takes 1st-year students and 3rd-year students along with some master's students. There are smaller hostels for Ph.D scholars. Both hostels are big and spacious with high security guards. As for mess, there are 3 options for students to choose from: 1. Northern Mess(Veg), 2. Eastern Mess(Non-Veg), 3. Southern Mess(Non-Veg). All provide good and clean food. As for girls, there is only one big hostel named Gargi Hostel.

The infrastructure is really good as the campus is of 365 Acres, with enough space for natural lakes and trees around. There are different buildings for major departments, Civil, CSE, Electrical and ECE, Mechanical, Production. And there's a science block for all major science branches: Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering. Mathematics, and Computation Department. Apart from academic buildings there is SAC(Student Activity Centre) where most students gather during day time. The central library is big and is along with the Management and Humanities Department. The campus has a big indoor stadium and an outdoor stadium too. There's a big market complex inside the campus itself. Overall the campus is big and full of life.

Campus life is awesome along with the major tech fest AAYAM taking place every Summer. Major cultural fest MOKSHA takes place every winter. Both are the biggest in North East India. The clubs are active and full of student engagement. Mostly the robotics club and dance club along with singing clubs are really active. And they're all promising and worth investigating time into. Also, there are free classes that the students take to educate the nearby children which I believe is a really good initiative.
