One thing about Bangalore is that once u stay here for 4-5 years, you can’t live in any other city then. The city may not be one of the best, the traffic is one of the worst but there’s something about the colleges of Bangalore. After graduating from T John Institute of Technology a mediocre college and waiting 1 year to prepare for entrance one thing that I realized was that I want to be in Bangalore for the rest of my life. MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology Admission commands a high score in GATE and that’s the only way you can enter its M.Tech program. Ramaiah Institute of Technology college was under VYU before 2007 but now decides its own framework and the scheme of curriculum activities and all. The college also has a research center for Ph.D. aspirants in management and engineering fields. The infrastructure of the college is amazing and the students are one of the best. There’s nothing to debate about the college as everything is so perfectly planned at MSRIT. I had to wait a year to get admission here but it was more than worth it because it’s the only college that offers a 100% placement and that too with packages beyond imagination.

My department was more than satisfying. The common notion is that Computer Science students only know coding. This is as wrong as Bill Gates and poor. Embedded, Graphics were also the core subjects of our course. It was a great deal of learning and practicals were more serious than the classes. Digital is the way forward and as masters’ students, the college made sure that before we step out we are more than ready. TCS-ion was set up inside the campus as TCS is also the main recruiter of the college. At, MSRIT the academics are not marks oriented but learning-oriented.

MSRIT’s professor's general awareness of what’s going on or what is trendy was exceptional. Most of them had jobs in the IT sector at some point in time but keeping themselves updated with that was more than one can expect. All these transformed in the way they taught us. The only way one can impress them is by getting good GPA. There were many students with 8+ pointers but there were few who begged for numbers. Studies are tough and the professors tried their best so that students don’t have any backlogs. The atmosphere that the faculty have created at the college for studies is satisfactory.

For IS and CS branches Ramaiah Institute of Technology placements were the best. We lead the placement charts as a student from our batch was hired by Oracle for the 25LPA package. This was as good as a package offered by IITs. Mass recruiters have made sure that everyone gets placed and even the students with backlog stand a chance. Thus, one can complete their M.Tech in 3 years and still have a placement. CTC follows an upward curve year on year and the average package a year our batch was 8 lakhs but it rose to 10 lakhs during our batch.

There is a boys and girls hostel inside the campus. The hostel has to be applied immediately because it is in more demand than the college. Students from other states form the majority and even though the college is located in posh locality, MSRIT hostel is still the first choice for students. The hostel had various room options but it is left for the hostel to decide because M. Tech admissions are often delayed and so M. Tech students had to manage with what they get. The rooms were spacious and were airy. The in-time was never an issue as 10.30pm was the time but the guard managed it even if we came by 11-11.30. By the time, I joined MSRIT, I was used to having south Indian food 3 times in a day as that is what was served at the mess most of the times.

MSRIT campus has n number of blocks as Ramaiah has many colleges under one roof. All the blocks of the institute has RO drinking water facility. Solar installation completed just a few years back and that has made sure that Bangalore which often witness power cuts due to rainfall, MSRIT doesn't face such problems. The parking is never an issue at MSRIT. You will find over 1000 2-wheelers and 200 4-wheelers parked at parking lot on daily basis. The Apex block is the main block at the campus and it has the biggest auditoriums out of the 6 auditoriums that are present at the campus. The campus has a food court that has 4 outlets providing south and north Indian menu. Common rooms for both the genders are available in each block. Fitness has become a new trend and to make sure the student stay fit, the college has built a world-class gym. There are also many sporting facilities at the campus. Fitness enthusiasts are no short of opportunities to try all that they want.

The institute calls the ex-students to the campus and I am still waiting for the day, I am being called upon. I miss the campus so much as it was so dear to me. I made friends, had a ball and what not at the campus which was always full of energy. The sting that MSRIT campus has is next level.
