A Detailed review about Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi

Overall Rating
So I got into IIT BHU in 2024 after giving JEE advance 2024 and securing All India Rank of 10339 in open category. I have been allotted Civil IDD and it has been a few days since I started my journey here. The overall experience is decent enough up until now, although I am experiencing some problem in adapting to this new environment but the campus seems decent and the hostels are average.
 

Academics Rating
The academics are decent although it may not be on par with other IITs. It has not been much time here, but some teachers are good. You might have to study on your own if want a good grade. The Civil Engineering faculty seems good as of now.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty seems experienced enough. All have great academic backgrounds and have graduated from top universities of the country. They can assist you in your journey in whatever way you need. The overall academic experience will be fine and faculty will assist you in all the problems.
 

Placement Rating
The placement here is very good if is comparable to top 5 IITs. The placement cell is really helpful and will help you to get trained for placement. overall many companies visit the campus and you will find various opportunities in whatever branch you opt. the placement were little less last year but it will hopefully get better over the years and as far as placement is considered it is a good college to consider.
 

Hostel Rating
The first year students this year have got the newest hostel that is the Prafulla Chandra Ray hostel. The hostel is newly constructed but still has a lot of issues for example the rooms are small and you will have to share with 3 others. The washrooms are not cleaned regularly and the quality of food in mess is not very good.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is a major problem in IIT BHU. Since it's a very old University there are a lot of old constructions which have not been renovated properly. There isn’t any ACs in hostels and classrooms. In summer it gets really hot and travelling from hostel to classroom in this heat can really be challenging.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is very good. The campus is beautiful and green. There are many facilities such as Gymkhana and various sports facilities for basketball, volleyball, football, cricket, and hockey. You can also find Indore games like table tennis, badminton and chess. Overall, there are many things to experience in this campus.

    IIT BHU is currently ranked 10 in NIRF ranking 2024. The college has very good environment for academics and personal development. So many clubs and societies are there to help a student in his / her extracurricular growth. The college has tech clubs like aero modeling, robotics, coding club, and more.     Overall Rating
    The overall experience at IIT BHU is like dream fulfilling, had a rigorous curriculum, research opportunities and highly educated faculties for the academics. I really like the sports facilities offered by the institute and joyful & memorable experiences at the festivals. But when it comes to hostel life is really get emotional because hostel is the true heart of the students where they live for 4/5 years as their home and friends as siblings.
