St. Xavier's College, Kolkata: A Dream of Many Aspirants

Overall Rating
St. Xavier's College was established in the year 1860s. It is an autonomous college. It is known for its excellent academics. It offers wide range of UG and PG courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce.
 

Academics Rating
I applied for Bachelor of Commerce in this college. If you want to pursue the same, you will have to score ninety plus percent in 12th board. You will have to choose Commerce in +2 to be eligible for this course. It has its own brand name, so you will not regret coming to this college. My motive to join this college was to pursue B.Com+ CMA. The course curriculum is relevant, popular and focuses on all the skills. The semester exams are hard but help students learn a wide range of topics. The pass percentage is around 70-80%.
 

Faculty Rating
The teachers are well qualified and helpful. Students can approach them at their convenience. Many teachers try to connect with students personally.
 

Placement Rating
St. Xavier's College has its own placement cell for its students. Students can submit their resume to in-charges of placement cell and receive guidance in being placed in companies.
 

Hostel Rating
It has a hostel but it is a little far from the college campus. I am not a hostel resident but I have come to know from some friends that hostel has its own charm. The students living together have great bonding.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is spacious and well maintained with a Chapel building (IT classes are held here). The infrastructure is good. The classrooms are outfitted with a projector and Wi-Fi facility. Students can register for Wi-Fi through website of college and get ID and password through mail. There is an auditorium (Depelchin), huge ground for sport lovers, and a gymnasium. The only things that lacks is air conditioning as not all the rooms have ACs. Overall, the labs and library is very good.
 

Campus Rating
We have an annual fest called Xavotsav, every year, which goes on for 3 days. We have a bonfire night too. The college has various societies that Xaverians can join mainly in their first year. There's an annual event of hostel too, which is known as ‘Cofradia’.

    SXC Kolkata has a strong alumni network. The Commerce classes are held in the morning from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. In this College, you are free to do all kinds of training, certificate course, internships, etc. The College conducts various extracurricular activities for the students.   • SXC Kolkata Hostels have Rooms in 2 & 3 Occupancies with Attached & Common Washrooms

    SXC Kolkata is one of the best Colleges in India for the students who want to pursue UG and PG courses. When I first entered in the College, I was confused between B.Sc Economics and B.Com (Hons.). I chose this College and a year later as an economics sophomore, I can proudly say that I do not regret my decision. I really like this College.     My experience in this College is great. The campus has friendly environment. This College is good in all the aspects such as good faculty, infrastructure, etc. I chose this College because of its great reputation and studying here will give me better experience.     My overall experience in St. Xavier College Kolkata is great. There are only few Colleges that offer quality education. The environment here is good and students are engaging and academically great. I chose this College because of its academics and good faculty members.     St. Xavier's College is known for its strict academic standards and attendance policies, but what remains unknown is that Xavier's becomes the 6th best Commerce college in India according to the NIRF ranking 2024, because of its infrastructure, culture, academics, discipline and most importantly, the people.
