I chose IIT Kharagpur as it has 222 QS world ranking in 2024 which means it has more learning and placement opportunities. Also the lush green campus of 2,100 acres attracted me. The air quality index of the campus is quite good. I could recommend others to join this college as it is the biggest Institute in all terms whether we talk about departments, number of students, faculties or clubs.

Integrated Teacher Education Program (informally called B.Sc + B.Ed) started in 2023 under the New Education Policy 2020. Currently in 2024, this program is offered by 4 IIT’s namely, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Ropar and IIT Jodhpur. The minimum eligibility for this course is that you have qualified National Common Entrance Test and 12th grade or equivalent degree but this may vary according to different Institutes. The motive of this program is to produce quality teachers at every stage of education.

In IIT Kharagpur, this program is introduced in 2023 by School of Education which became Department of Education. IIT Kharagpur offers 4 majors in this program out of which is allotted after counseling based on NCET marks. My major is Chemistry. In Chemistry, faculties are awesome and from different background and Universities. One is from Ohio University. Some professors teach on smart board and provide PPT while other prefers to teach on green board.

There are currently no placement records available, as the first batch will complete their degree in 2027. Placements will be conducted afterward, and placement records will become available.

All the ITEP graduates were allotted Lal Bahadur Shastri Hall of Residence along B.Tech graduates. Infrastructure of the hostel is good and hall facilities are okay. It has five floors but there is no lift. There are two mess and 3 canteens inside the hall, One small library, one gymnasium and one music room.

IIT Kharagpur has one of the best infrastructures. The academic block is called Nalanda and has 5 floors and 2 lifts. It is fully air conditioned. Our classes are held here. Our Department of Education is near to Vinod Gupta class of Management. Currently it is under construction. Physics, chemistry and computer laboratory at ground floor are functional now but 1st floor is still under construction.

IIT Kharagpur has many clubs. Among which 180DC, KDAG, KodeinKGP, IFSA, Pravaah, Encore, Aawaaz, Business Club, Public Policy and Governance Society, Aroma, Breakfree are the famous ones. There are three cells namely, Entrepreneurship Cell, Student Relations and Branding Cell, Students' International Relations Cell. IIT Kharagpur conducts three major fests, Spring Fest which is a cultural fest organized in January. Kshitij which is a technical fest is also organized in January and Shaurya which is a sports fest organized in October. There are department specific and state specific societies too.
