Student Life and Academics at IIT DELHI

Overall Rating
Overall it's one of the best IIT with very good student life. Academics are on a bit tougher side but it's relevant. Placement wise IIT DELHI is one of the best. There are a lot of students clubs catering to different interests. Campus is lush green and beautiful. Campus is spread in 300 acres of land. Hostels also are very old with many hostels from 1960’s but they are still in good condition. Hostels are less in number as compared to number of students. So, this can be improved. Overall it's one of the best IIT’s.
 

Academics Rating
I am enrolled in B.Tech doing specialization in electrical engineering (power and automation). Selection is solely based on JEE advance rank. My program is mostly common with electrical engineering but specializing in power and automation. Some parts of communication and electronics are kept as elective for my program. In 1st year subjects are common so there is one subject named introduction to computer science that is common for all the students. In 3rd semester there is data structure and algorithm course for people interested in computer science.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are mostly IITians with Ph.D degree from reputed foreign Universities. Faculties have great knowledge of their subject. They try to teach better. If you are interested in research, they will always be ready to help you with anything.
 

Placement Rating
Placements at IIT DELHI are one of the best in all IIT’s having advantage of location. For circuital branches average package is about 30 lakhs and for non circuital it's about 20 lakhs. IIT DELHI has best package in non circuital branches in all IIT’s with placements mostly in software industry.
 

Hostel Rating
Some new Hostels are actually very good. But due to less number of hostels 3 people are living in a room instead of 2. Mess food is quite good. Hostel rivalry in IIT DELHI is no match to any other IIT.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Hostel infrastructure needs to be improved. Academic blocks are very old. Few places in the campus are under construction now for new blocks. Lecture hall complex infrastructure is very good with very good labs. Almost all amenities are present in campus itself. But if you need anything that you don’t find inside, no problem as IIT Delhi is present in middle of City.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is very good. One of the best in all IIT’s. Crowd being very smart. There are clubs catering to almost everything. With entrepreneurship development club being best in all IITs. Talking about fest, Who doesn't know about RDV: 2nd best after IIT Bombay mood Indigo. In campus there are multiple activities going on throughout the year.

    It is one of the best Institutes for Engineering courses in India. My personal experience at this Institute is has been great. Students can choose this Institute for various aspects like placements, sports, research work, innovative projects, etc. Being a graduate of this Institute automatically increases the worth of a student in the industry.   • 'Tryst' is an Annual Technical Fest of IIT New Delhi

    IIT New Delhi is one of the prestigious Institute. It has great academics, sports facilities, etc. The one think that I don’t like about this Institute is that the crowd is huge.   • IIT New Delhi Campus Area is About 320 Acres

    IIT Delhi is one of the top Institutes for Engineering in India. I chose this Institute because of its functions, events, alumni. Also, this Institute has made many unicorns which is not made by many Institutes. The most amazing thing here is that it has a counseling team and BSW (Board for Student Welfare).
